HARI RAYA OUTING ENDS IN RAPE

GEMAS: A 22-year-old man was detained by police on Saturday for allegedly raping his 14-year-old girlfriend at his house in Felda Jelai the previous night.
The girl had lodged a report at 3am on Saturday claiming her boyfriend had duped her into believing that they were going to a friend's house for a Hari Raya do but instead took her to his home.

He raped her at 9pm and sent her home later that night.

The victim's family suspected something amiss as she had returned late and managed to coax the truth out of her.

I try to be nice, but you just laugh.
I'm not fitting in anymore, what can I do?
You don't realize, but it's starting to hurt.
When everything's just right, it always turns to dirt.

Help me, what am I doing wrong?
I don't understand, I'm there when your not strong.

I wanted to let you know I'm here still caring,
still thinking about you,

The Mistake You Cannot Forget
by Ashlie

You say you cannot forget
And you aren't ready to forgive
But I need your friendship
More than you'll even know
I need you there to live

Without you by my side today
Life's been going, oh so slow
I miss your calls
Our endless talks
The places we would go

You can't even bear to look at me,
And I know my mistake
For because of one night,
And a few thoughtless actions,
When you saw me you ran and hid

I know we cannot take it back
As much as we would like to
But we could forget
And start all over
Just friends, that's me and you

If time is what you need,
Then I guess that's what you'll get
But I need you there for me soon,
My friend,
I hope you will forget.

BUTTERWORTH: A supper date with her boyfriend turned into a nightmare for a 16-year-old salesgirl.
The girl was taken to a budget hotel in Taman Bagan here and raped by her companion.

The victim did not relate the incident, which happened about 12.30am on Oct 4, to her parents. Instead it was her former boyfriend, whom she had confided in, who told her parents what had happened.

Murder victim's father did not know suspect had a crush on his daughter
TAKEN FRM NST ONLINE (10.10.08)

The father of a woman strangled to death by her male friend in Sungai Buloh yesterday had no idea that the suspect had a crush on his daughter.

Baharom Basir, 51, said this was because their family had presumed that the relationship was merely like a brother and sister, he told Bernama when met at his home here today.

He said the 36-year-old suspect and his eldest daughter had known each other for the past five years as they both worked for the same company in Rawang.

Baharom said, however, there was no plan on both sides of the family for the couple to be married.

“We did not know that he was head over heel in love with her,” he said adding that her daughter was supposed to celebrate her 26th birthday today.
In the 11am incident yesterday, Nurul Hazira Baharom was strangled to death by the suspect after she informed him of her engagement plan with another man.

The incident occurred in a room at the suspect’s rented house in Batu 19, Kampung Gombak, Kuang.

The suspect was believed to have consumed some pesticides soon after the victim was dead.

Gombak police chief when contacted today confirmed the incident and said the suspect was still unconscious at the Sungai Buloh Hospital.

“We will take his statement as soon as he regains consciousness,” he said.

Meanwhile, Nurul Hazira’s body was buried at the Taman Ehsan Cemetery, Kepong at 7.30pm yesterday.

PHNOM PENH, Cambodia - A couple in rural Cambodia has terminated their 18-year marriage with a divorce settlement that entailed sawing in two the wooden house they once shared, villagers said Friday. The husband, 42-year-old Moeun Sarim, has taken away with him all the bits and pieces of his half a house, said his 35-year-old wife, Vat Navy.

"Very strange, but this is what my husband wanted," she said by phone from a village about 62 miles east of Cambodia's capital, Phnom Penh. She said they ended their marriage last month.

"He brought his relatives and used saws to cut the house in half," she said, adding that she now owns the other half that is still standing. The house is made from wood with a tile roof and propped up on wooden pillars, a typical style for a Cambodian country home.

She said her estranged husband and his relatives, after ripping apart half of the house, carried all the debris to his parents' house nearby.

She said the divorce was prompted by her husband's jealousy about her alleged relationship with a policeman in the village. She denied having an extramarital affair.

"He wanted a divorce, and I said, `Let's divorce,'" she said.

The husband could not be reached for comment.

Bou Bout, a village chief, said local officials and police were present as witnesses the day the couple split their 20-by-24 1/2 foot house into half.

"Local officials tried three times to get them to mend their differences, but the husband would not budge," Bou Bout said by phone.

TEACHER KICKED, SLAPPED BY 2 FORM 2 GIRLS (TAKEN FRM NST ONLINE DATED 17.10.08)

Physics teacher Azhana Ibrahim was assaulted after being involved in an argument with two Form Two students at 10am.
The argument was over a crude word which one of the students had written in a class project report.
The teacher sought an explanation from the students, both 14, which ended in a shouting match.
Azhana and the two students also traded slaps in the incident at Sekolah Menengah Perlis here.
District police chief Superintendent Yusof Mohd Diah said the teacher was kicked in the belly about two to three times during the incident.
"The teacher had advised the students about something that was written in a report which they submitted."
Azhana had no physical injuries, but she was traumatised.
She was accompanied by two other teachers when she lodged a report at the Kangar district police station.
The teacher had taught in Johor for five years before being transferred to Perlis in January.
The case comes in the wake of several disciplinary cases which occurred at the same school since last year.
There was also a case of lewd behaviour last year involving two students.
Just three days before, the school's principal was given a warning by the education authorities concerning a complaint lodged by a group of parents.
Parents of eight Muslim students, who were part of the school's brass band, claimed the school had directed their children to participate in a religious festival organised by a Taoist temple here.
This prompted the state Education Department to issue a warning to the principal, asking him to be more sensitive of the pupils' religious differences.
Meanwhile, a teacher who accompanied Azhana to the police station said the latter was traumatised.
"She was shaken when she came into the teachers' room for help. We then drove her to the police station."
The teacher, who declined to be named, said other students were called in to gang up on the teacher during the incident.
Azhana had apparently asked the two students to submit their physics folio assignment several times, but to no avail.
When the students did submit their reports, they had written gila babi (crazy swine) which was aimed at Azhana.
It is learnt that the words were written at the back cover of the report.
Azhana then questioned the students in front of a Form One class yesterday morning. A fight broke out after the teacher tried to advise the students and the incident was recorded on a student's handphone.
When contacted, state Education Department director Mansor Lat said a full report would be sought from the school.

From STAR...North Korea has kept its promise and reversed steps to restart its nuclear reactor at Yongbyon after an agreement last weekend between Washington and Pyongyang, the State Department said on Friday.
North Koreans are seen participating in celebrations for the 60th anniversary of the founding of North Korea in Pyongyang in this September 9, 2008 file photo. (REUTERS/Kyodo/Files)

"The North Koreans have in their efforts reversed all their reversals in the reactor. All the seals are back on, the surveillance equipment is back, reinstalled. And the equipment that had been removed is back where it had been," said State Department spokesman Sean McCormack.

"In addition, they have moved more rods from the reactor. On the reactor, they have actually gone beyond where they were prior to their reversing the disablement steps," he told reporters, adding that 60 percent of the nuclear fuel rods had been taken out of the reactor.

However, in the fuel reprocessing facility, the North Koreans had more to do. "They have not yet gotten to that baseline where they were," he said. "There is still work to be done, but progress on it."

Last weekend's deal was a desperate attempt by the United States to save disablement talks that were collapsing as North Korea began to reverse earlier steps it had taken to disable its Soviet-era plant at Yongbyon.

Asked whether the United States was satisfied the North was keeping its promises on disablement, McCormack said: "Thus far, yes."

OFF BLACKLIST

The United States took North Korea off its terrorism blacklist last weekend after the two countries agreed on a series of measures to verify Pyongyang's nuclear program, including taking samples out of the country.

Inspectors will now be allowed access to all declared nuclear sites and "based on mutual consent" to sites not declared by the North.

Those steps still have to be formally agreed on by the two Koreas, the United States, Russia, Japan and China -- the six nations handling North Korea's nuclear dossier.

McCormack said China was expected soon to announce a meeting of the six nations to affirm in writing the verification steps agreed on by the United States and the North.

On a visit to Washington, South Korean Defense Minister Lee Sang-hee and U.S. Defense Secretary Robert Gates, welcomed the resumption of disabling work at Yongbyon and "urged North Korea to fully cooperate on the verification regime."

"North Korea's continued development of its weapons of mass destruction program, along with its ballistic missiles and the threat of proliferation, pose a serious challenge to the U.S.-ROK Alliance and the peace and security of northeast Asia," the ministers said in a joint statement.

North Korea tested a nuclear device in 2006 using plutonium and is suspected of pursuing a uranium enrichment program that would provide a second path to make fissile material for nuclear weapons.

The latest measures agreed on include both the plutonium-based program and any uranium enrichment and proliferation activities.

KUALA LUMPUR: MIC Youth demands an apology from Indian daily Tamil Nanban and a beer company for an insensitive Deepavali advertisement that appeared in the newspaper yesterday.
They also lodged a police report against the newspaper and the Skol beer company claiming it was insulting to the Indian community.

Its secretary, C. Shivarraj, said the advertisement by Skol printed on page 5 could lead to misperception on the Indian community as well as convey a wrong message to Indian youth.

"They are insulting the Hindus' Rangoli kolam by putting the beer bottles in the middle and stating that the Deepavali celebration will be more enjoyable with Skol beer," said Shivarraj at the Sentul police station here yesterday.

He said members of the public who saw the advertisement might get the wrong idea that Indians were fond of drinking.
Shivarraj added that Indian youth might also get the wrong idea that it was a norm to get drunk when they were adults.

"This misperception and wrong message of the Indian community must stop," said Shivarraj.

He called for an apology from the newspaper and the beer company before Deepavali on Oct 27.

The report was lodged by MIC Youth, Culture and Religion Bureau chief, K. Sathasivam, who was accompanied by Shivarraj.

AT a recent Raya open house, friend A discussed with friend B about the video clip controversy involving two personalities in the local showbiz industry. While A maintained that the clip was authentic, B was not convinced.

insidepix1

The conversation soon began to sound like a coffee-table political discussion. As the rest of the table buddies were forced to listen to it, it began to occur to this writer just how many out there were like A and B?

A seems like someone who gets bits and pieces of information from any source. Be it an article in a tabloid, a blog or simply hearsay, she is quite happy to accept anything at face value, as long as it is the first time she hears about it.

B, on the other hand, is slightly more critical and choosy when looking for news sources. Every piece of information he gets, he will check whether it is sound or some bogus argument.

With free services such as Google News available online for all to get information, it is a shame that there are still many As out there who would believe just about anything without doubt.

Google News for Malaysia (http://news.google.com.my) brings together headlines from over 4,500 English-language news sources worldwide, groups similar stories together and even shows them on your screen according to your preference. The service also lets you decide which subject interests you and which source you would like to read about it from.

Hopefully with such services, Malaysians will grow better reading skills and become wiser in digesting information. Professor Roland Paris of University of Colorado noted in his Web page (socsci.colorado.edu/~parisr/IAFS_1000/critical_reading.htm) that critical reading means thinking carefully about an author’s claims, rather than accepting these claims at face value.

He wrote, “In both your professional and your personal life, you will likely be called upon to separate strong from weak arguments, to develop your own opinions based on evidence and careful reasoning, and to sort through and make sense of a confusing mass of information. Critical thinking and reading skills will allow you

to do this.”

This writer believes that reading is just like eating. You don’t simply devour everything.

Turning to the Net for a safer journey HIGHWAYS around the country will have their fair share of vehicles today as the balik kampung rush continues.
Keeping track of traffic flow this festive season is made easy with the Internet.
Keeping track of traffic flow this festive season is made easy with the Internet.

With full (or near-full) passenger capacity and a boot filled with luggage and goodies, driving would certainly be a challenge – even before taking into account the differing attitudes of other drivers.

To ensure rules are adhered to, the number of fatal accidents reduced and smooth traffic flow, the police – as in previous festive periods, launched the Ops Sikap last week.

The 15-day operation, which ends on Oct 8, involves utilising electronic media to provide information to road users on peak and non-peak hours so they can plan their journey. The police are also increasing patrolling activities, going undercover on buses and monitoring traffic flow at accident-prone areas through closed-circuit cameras situated at 19 watch towers along Federal Highways and the expressway.

Besides relying on the authorities to maintain road safety, drivers should be prepared for their journey. While ensuring their vehicles are serviced is a good start, they should equip themselves with relevant traffic information. For example, if they are looking for the best routes to reach their destination, they can check out the Malaysian Highway Authority’s traffic Web site at www.llmtrafik.gov.my.

The Web site not only provides highway maps. It also offers traffic status or conditions of different points in various highways as well as live highway traffic images. Through www.llmtrafik.gov.my/wap, SMS and WAP can be used to get the latest information.

Meanwhile, PLUS Expressways Bhd’s Web site (www.plus.com.my) features maps of its expressways, a toll fare calculator, a listing of petrol stations, and rest areas along the expressways. With this, road users can plan their journey such as how much cash or credit they should have on their Touch N’ Go cards, and where they can stop to refill their tanks and take a break.

For those who are spending Hari Raya in Kuala Lumpur and its surrounding areas, take a look at www.itis.com.my. The Integrated Transport Information System’s Web site has traffic announcements, video streaming of live traffic conditions, a journey planner with specific point-to-point instructions and an interactive map that indicates traffic congestion in real-time.

With Ops Sikap in place, fatal accidents were reduced from 213 in 2006 to 203 last year. Hopefully, with enough preparation on the drivers’ side, coupled with Ops Sikap, there will be significant reduction in the number of fatalities this time around.

Selamat Hari Raya.

OIL!!!!OIL!!!!
I have a good new.I want to share
to all what I was read in new
paper.Oil prices recovered some ground Friday, rallying above $71 a barrel on speculation that OPEC could slash output in an effort to stop crude's downward spiral. But pump prices kept falling and appeared poised to drop below $3 a gallon nationally - a level not seen in eight months.

Light, sweet crude for November delivery rose $2 to settle at $71.85 a barrel on the New York Mercantile Exchange after earlier rising as high as $74.30.

On Thursday, prices lost $4.69 to settle at $69.85 a barrel.

Despite Friday's modest rally, oil is still down $75 - or 51 percent - since catapulting to a record high of $147.27 on July 11.

The bearish sentiment around oil has grown more feverish in recent days, lopping more than $11 off prices in the previous three trading sessions alone.

A barrel of crude hasn't been this cheap in almost 14 months.

So we must thankful to our god.I also hope the oil price not increase again.

That all from me.thank you.

PETALING JAYA: Hosts Malaysia booked their ticket into the semi-finals of the 40th Merdeka Tournament after thrashing Sierra Leonne 4-0 in a Group A match played at the MBPJ Stadium in Kelana Jaya last night.

Malaysia, who also whipped Nepal 4-0 in the opening game on Wednesday, faced some early resistance from the young African side before getting their goals through Indra Putra Mahayuddin in the 66th minute, Mohd Safee Sali (72nd) and twins Mohd Aidil Zafuan Abdul Razak and Zaquan Adha in the 77th and 90th minutes respectively.

Malaysia have accumulated an unassailable lead of six points and play their last match against Afghanistan tomorrow.

Yesterday’s game was played on a mud-filled pitch following early rain.

And it was the Africans who had the first real break at goal in the 22nd minute.

Striker Dwight Foray broke into the box but with only Malaysian keeper Mohd Helmi Eliza Elias to beat, he shot straight in the latter’s arms.

Mohd Zaquan Adha had the best chance of the half to put the home team in front but his point blank shot from inside the box was saved by Sierra Leone keeper Jalloh Lansana in the 26th minute.

The Malaysians raised their game after the breather but wasted three sitters in a 10-minute spell with Mohd Zaquan Adha, Mohd Safee Sali and Indra Putra Mahayuddin squandering open chances.

Then, Indra made amends when he latched onto a through ball from substitute Mohd Hardy Jaafar to squeeze the ball past substitute keeper Mohd Kanu in the 66th minute before Mohd Safee added the second goal from a goalmouth melee in the 72nd minute.

Centre back Mohd Aidil nodded in the third goal from a Mohd Hardy corner-kick in the 77th minute.

Mohd Zaquan Adha completed the rout in the dying minutes for the fourth goal.

Earlier, Nepal and Afghanistan played out a 2-2 draw on the same field.

Meanwhile, tomorrow’s last round of matches in Group A have been switched to the National Stadium in Bukit Jalil because of the poor pitch condition at the MBPJ Stadium.

"MCA needs to come to terms with the new political realities fast. We need to pick up the pace of reform. We need to reach out to the young voters and we need to adopt new ways of doing things within MCA and Barisan Nasional,’’ he had posted on his blog early Saturday morning.

In the race for the deputy president’s post Datuk Seri Dr Chua Soi Lek emerged victorious.

The others vying for the deputy presidency were Datuk Seri Ong Ka Chuan, Datuk Donald Lim and Tanjung MCA deputy chairman Lee Hack Teik.

Soi Lek had 1,115 votes while Ka Chuan polled 1,001 votes, Donald had 209 and Lee had 10 votes.

The former vice-president quit all his party and government posts over a sex video recording of him in January. The outspoken leader saw his 25-year-old political career collapse overnight following wide circulation of the video.

Dr Chua, 61, whose manifesto read: ‘Be the Force of Change: Real Courage, Real Politics’, had said earlier that the 2008 MCA polls were to vote in those who could understand the situation of the community and nation, and effectively rebuild MCA and put it back on track.

This, the former Health Minister stressed, was of utmost importance after the 59-year-old party’s dismal performance in the March 8 general election, where it won only 46 of the 130 parliamentary and state seats it contested.

The four new MCA four vice-presidents are Perak’s Datuk Kong Cho Ha, former MCA Youth chief Datuk Liow Tiong Lai,Datuk Dr Ng Yen Yen and Johor deputy MCA chief Tan Kok Hong.

Kong polled 1,798 votes, Liow had 1,725 votes, Dr Ng had 1,659 votes and Tan had 1,329 votes.

The others in the fray for the four vice-presidents’ posts were Datuk Seri Dr Fong Chan Onn,Kedah’s Datuk Chor Chee Heung, former Serdang MP Datuk Yap Pian Hon and Kuala Langat division vice-chairman Lim Teck Chong.

Dr Ng, the Women, Family and Community Development Minister created history by becoming the first elected woman MCA vice-president.

The former Wanita MCA chief, whose slogan for the polls was ‘Three + One: The Perfect Formula’, had urged the central delegates to look at a candidate’s track record and potential instead of agenda.

“Leaders must be agents of change. As the Women, Family and Community Development Minister, I have been pushing to have 30% of women in the decision making process. I will not be practising what I preach, if I do not contest,’’ she had said, when commenting on her candidacy.

The elected Central Committee Members are:

Lee Wei Kiat, Datuk Wong Foon Meng, Datuk Tan Chai Ho, Tan Cheng Liang, Dr Hou Kok Chung, Lee Chee Leong, Gan Ping Shou @ Gan Ping Sieu, Datuk Yu Chok Tow, Wong Nai Chee, Lee Sing Chooi, Wee Jeck Seng, Gan Tian Loo, Datuk Dr Yeow Chai Thiam, Datuk Chong Itt Chew, Datuk Hoh Khai Mun, Datuk Ti Lian Ker, Datuk Liew Yuen Keong, Datuk Wong Mook Leong, Kong Sing Chu, Datuk Khoo Keok Hai, Datuk Tee Siew Kiong, Loh Seng Kok, Datuk Wong Siong Hwee, Dr Por Choo Chor and Datuk Loke Yuen Yow.

ermm...actually i wanna share with u about things will get down...read dis aout...

Everyone is so excited and can’t stop talking about petrol. It seems like they are no longer interested to talk about the usual gossip gossip stuff…he he. I can talk about anything with my friends. Chat, sms, whatever... but not football. Which are the only things the boys in school ever talk about.

Everyone is talking about planning to or thinking about planning to change or planning to think about changing or planning to plan to change to a smaller and more petrol-saving car. They talk to plan about driving less or driving only when absolutely needed. Wow!

Then, yesterday, I realised that it could be kinda of a good thing if people have smaller cars and drive around less. That way we will be polluting the air less. During our children workshop on the environment, we were told about how cars are one of the main causes of global warming. So God must be making things happened so that people will pollute the environment less! I think God is a lot smarter than us.

for me...the human race is the no.1 freeloader of the universe and that God is not going to just sit around doing nothing while human happily destroy the earth.

iwanna share with u all about one article....this article entittle
NOT PREETY BUT FULL OF GOODNESS...

When I was younger, dad used to take me to his friend’s organic farm on the weekends. It was a real organic farm because everything there was grown without chemical. Fertiliser was made from grass, dung and other rotten stuff. Dad told me that he almost became an organic farmer himself. I like eating carrots so I don’t really mind being a farmer’s daughter... he he.

At the farm, we talked to the plants. Dad spoke to them like as if they were babies. I also talked to them like they were babies... He he. Dad is quite good at talking to things, so talking to plants is not a problem for him. He talks to his car especially when it refuses to start; to our computer when it is acting up; to the washing machine when it becomes violet; and to himself when he can’t find the tv remote. He he.

I liked talking to the cucumber plant. When you talk to them softly and leave a finger close to the end of their vines (I think that’s what is called), they will wind around your finger. But, you have to wait a while though; they are usually not in a hurry. Well, plants are never in a big hurry. He he. They are slow and cute.

I also helped to digging up and loosen the soil to make new beds for the seedlings. We poked tiny holes in the soil with our fingers for the seedlings. Once they were nicely tugged in, we gave them a shower. And, said nice things to them… He he.

Dad said that when you talk to plants nicely and with a good vibration, they will give you produce that are full of goodness. You don’t have to eat a whole lot of them to be full. We used to take fruits and vegetables back from the farm. They were very fresh and tasty. Oh! I love the carrots.

Dad said that, in an organic farm, you don’t usually get to harvest all that you’ve planted because some of them will be eaten by the insects and birds. Some of the vegetables were not very pretty because they had holes from insect’s bits. Dad said that in nature; “you don’t have to be beautiful to be good”... He he.

for me i agree with the statement...don't have to be beautiful to be good...for example...if u wanna buy fruits..don't chose the beautiful one..coz it contain many chemicals to keep the fruit beautiful...so don't worry if u eat the fruits or vegetables that have holes...

i just read one article entitled GOOD CUTE LITTLE SPONGE..nothing to do with spongebob actually...

I once saw a documentary on tv that showed how some children (who has just started school) behaved during their meal times. They were like showing the differences between children in Japan and America.

Japanese children: sat in tidy rows, in their cute uniform. They sat quietly while the food was served by.... their classmates! Everyone waited patiently until all the serving was done and after saying their “thanks” (together), they began eating, without much fuss. They were so cute. Once done, everyone delivered their own tray to the washing station. Tables; very clean!!

American children: sat in tables of fours. No cute uniform. Not sitting quietly. Happily playing, jumping and shouting at each other while food was served, by the canteen staff. They started eating immediately when food was served to them. Don’t have to wait. Some started mini food fight. They were so fun to watch! Once done, some delivered their trays to the washing station. The rest left them on the table. Big clean up for canteen staff.

Dad said that the show was about different lifestyles and cultures. There is no right or wrong. No one is better or worst... he he. I like my dad.

Dad said that children before school already learned lots of things from their parents. They are like very good, cute little sponges. They absorb everything they hear and see, including whatever is from the television. They also pick up vibrations of love, kindness, gentleness, anger, silliness or whatever from those around them. They do nothing else day and night but just absorb and absorb. They maybe playing with their toys or watching you washing your car, but they are... Absorbing! So, don’t think that kids are just doing nothing much. They are very busy people... he he.

I know that. Even when I am doing nothing, I am doing something... he he.

Dad said that, stuff that has already being absorbed will not come out easily. Maybe if you squeeze the sponges so very hard, it might. Aiyoh! Oops, that was my idea.

Dad said that whenever he got upset, he always made sure that he was not around me, in case I absorb all his upset-ness. Hehe...

for me parents should play their role to protect their children from any bad influences...they should watch wat their children do..especially involve internet...as u all know..there are pro n cons about internt..depends on parents to guide their children so that their children will not influences by negative things...

Brazil girl dies after being held by ex-boyfriend-geet
SAO PAULO (Reuters) - A Brazilian teenager has been declared brain dead after being held hostage for four days and then shot by her ex-boyfriend, doctors said late on Saturday.

In a case that shocked the country, police say Lindemberg Fernandes Alves kidnapped Eloa Cristina Pimentel, 15, and her friend last week and held them in an apartment on the outskirts of Sao Paulo after the end of a two-year relationship.

Police stormed the apartment on Friday after hearing gun shots.

Pimentel was severely wounded in the head and groin and her friend, Nayara Rodrigues da Silva, 15, was wounded in the face. Da Silva is still in hospital but out of danger.

Police said Alves, 22, was now in custody and accused of firing the shots.

Da Silva had been freed on Tuesday but returned on Thursday as part of negotiations with Alves. The police have come under criticism for the move.

Canada to ban baby bottles with chemical

TORONTO (AP): Canada has declared a chemical widely used in food packaging a toxic substance and will move to ban the sale in Canada of plastic baby bottles containing bisphenol A.

The toxic classification, issued in Saturday's Canada Gazette, makes Canada the first country to classify the chemical commonly used in the lining of food cans, eyeglass lenses and hundreds of household items, as risky.

The federal ministries of Health and the Environment said Saturday that bisphenol A may be entering the environment in a quantity or under conditions that may pose a danger to Canadians.

Health Minister Tony Clement said a report on bisphenol A has found the chemical endangers people, particularly newborns and infants, citing concerns that the chemical in polycarbonate products and epoxy linings can migrate into food and beverages.

Newborns and infants are particularly vulnerable because of their frequent use of baby bottles that often contain the chemical, which is used to harden plastic and make it shatterproof.

The health and environment departments said Saturday that the government plans to restrict the importation, sale and advertising of bottles made with bisphenol A, known as BPA.

"Many Canadians ... have expressed their concern to me about the risks of bisphenol A in baby bottles,'' said Canada's Environment Minister John Baird in a statement. "Today's confirmation of our ban on BPA in baby bottles proves that our government did the right thing in taking action to protect the health and environment for all Canadians.''

The government is also proposing "to allow the lowest amount of BPA as reasonably achievable in infant formula cans'' and all foods in general. Its risk management plan said it would aim for "stringent'' targets for infant formula cans.

The biggest concern with this widely used chemical, traces of which can be found in more than 90 percent of Americans, has been over BPA's possible effects on reproductive development and hormone-related problems. It has also been linked to cancer in animals.

However, the chemical industry maintains that polycarbonate bottles contain little BPA and leach traces considered too low to harm humans.

"Consumer products made from polycarbonate plastic and epoxy resins, including products for infants and children, are accepted as safe for use by regulatory agencies around the world,'' Steven G. Hentges, the executive director, Polycarbonate/BPA Global Group of the American Chemistry Council, said Saturday in a statement commenting on Canada's decision.

The scientific debate over BPA could drag on for years. The European Union and the U.S. Food and Drug Administration say the chemical is safe. But the FDA is awaiting word from a scientific panel expected to deliver an independent risk assessment later this month.

Several U.S. states are considering restricting BPA use, some manufacturers have begun promoting BPA-free baby bottles, and some stores are phasing out baby products containing the chemical.

Wal-Mart Canada and other major retailers in Canada in recent months have begun removing BPA-based food-related products such as baby bottles and sipping cups from store shelves

Sanctuary for sun bears in Sabah soon
By RUBEN SARIO

KOTA KINABALU: There is hope for a bright future for sun bears in Sabah that are facing extinction. A sanctuary is being set up in Sandakan for the bears.

The state Wildlife Department together with the state Forestry Department and non-governmental organisation Land Empowerment Animals People (Leap) will jointly set up the conservation centre next to the orang utan rehabilitation centre.

Wildlife Department director Laurentius Ambu said the sun bear facility would be the first of its kind in Asia and was aimed at rehabilitation, research and education efforts concerning the animal.

Protective custody: Researcher Wong Siew Te looking at a sun bear at Sepilok, near Sandakan.

There are already 11 sun bears which the department had seized from various individuals now being kept at Sepilok, he said.

Ambu said that although there were no figures to ascertain the number of sun bears now, wildlife experts were convinced that the mammals would be classified as “endangered” very soon.

“What we do know is that there is a small population of sun bears scattered around the state but their forest habitat is shrinking and they are threatened by poaching,” he told The Star.

Ambu added that the sun bear population worldwide was estimated at about 10,000. A fraction of them are in Sabah.

Leap executive director Cynthia Ong said the organisation and the two departments hoped to get construction of the RM1.2mil sun bear centre going by early next year.

Rape accused gets a lecture from uncle

KUALA LUMPUR: A welder became the centre of attraction in a courtroom here when he got a “lecture” from his uncle before he was charged for raping a student.

His uncle, who sat at the first row in the public gallery behind the dock, harangued the accused: “Why you get involved in this sort of thing? If you want to have fun it will only be for an hour.

“If you want, you should just get married,” the unidentified uncle, 47, told accused Zaidi Mohd Sahak.

Zaidi, 34, is accused of raping a 16-year-old girl at a low-cost apartment at Bandar Tasik Selatan in Cheras between 1.30am and 4am on March 6, 2006.

The girl had lodged a complaint against him that same day.

If convicted, Zaidi can be jailed for up to 30 years and whipped under Section 376 of the Penal Code.

Zaidi bowed his head and appeared emotional when his uncle scolded him for bringing shame to his family.

“I am so embarassed,” the uncle said, asking Zaidi to look at reporters who were present, saying that his case would be reported by the media.

Zaidi, from Malacca, claimed trial when a court interpreter read the charge.

Prosecuting officer Chief Inspector R. Rukumar asked the court to set his bail at RM20,000 in one surety.

Pleading for lower bail, Zaidi said he is the sole breadwinner for his family and did not have enough money for bail.

Sessions Court judge S.M. Komathy Suppiah granted his bail at RM8,000 in one surety and set Nov 6 for mention, pending the appointment of a lawyer for Zaidi, who posted bail later.

Preserving sight for the future

According to global statistics, as much as 75% of blindness is avoidable through early prevention and diagnosis.

“One of the worst mistakes to make, especially in an ageing person, is to assume that loss of vision is supposed to happen as we grow older,” asserts Prof Dr Muhaya. “This is absolutely untrue. Any change or loss of vision should be investigated because this is our eyesight that we are trying to preserve. Ignoring vision loss is like ignoring chest pain. Just because loss of vision is not fatal doesn’t mean that it’s less important.”

Suggestions for good eye health include the following:

·Visit an ophthalmologist every other year for an eye screening if you are below 40 years old. An annual check-up is recommended for people above 40 years old, have a family history of eye conditions like glaucoma, cataracts or diabetic.

·See a doctor immediately if you have any acute or prolonged episodes like blurred vision, flashes of light, blind spots or any other symptom that affects your vision.

Plastic

Melamine is an organic compound that is often combined with formaldehyde to produce a resin. Melamine can be found in daily household items such as your kitchenware, floor tiles, upholstery fabrics, formica tables and counters as well as filters.

Melamine is indeed a type of plastic which is fire-resistant. Unfortunately, if you expose melamine products to very high temperatures like in your oven and microwave, melamine will melt.

Melamine was invented in the 1830s by a German scientist and started being used to make plastics and laminates in the 1930s.

Because melamine is so cheap, certain unscrupulous food companies have also started adding it into food as a cheap filler substance. In certain tests, melamine also shows up as a protein so manufacturers can also use it to boost their protein percentage on their label in order for the product to “look” more nutritious.

Healthy enzymes

In recent years, there has been a trend of eating enzymes (made mainly with fruits) for health reasons, particularly to activate the digestive system. Some housewives even make their own enzymes.

However, Lim cautions that homemade enzymes, although beneficial, may not have as much bifidus bacteria as commercial ones. She says care should be taken to prevent contamination of the enzyme when preparing it at home.

“Cover the bottle of enzyme drink properly during the process of fermentation. If other bacteria invade it, the good bacteria would be gone. Some people add too much sugar and even honey when making enzymes and this turns it to alcohol. And if you add sugar to cold fruits, the end results are very yin (cooling) to the body.”

She says making enzymes with rice malt will not result in high alcohol content. The enzyme drink may not be as sweet but is tasty.

“Enzyme drinks with alcoholic content can be addictive. There’s no goodness in this enzyme drink and, if taken over a long period, may cause blurred vision.”

Lim shares a simple method to make fruit enzymes correctly: Slice one organic red or green apple, pat dry and put into a sterilised bottle (or decanter with tight cover). Pour in one litre of boiled, cooled water and two to three tablespoons of organic rice malt. Stir and cover. Keep in the refrigerator to ferment for three to four days. Other fruits such as lemon, papaya and grapes can also be used. However, enzyme drinks made from pineapple and dragon fruit are more cooling, says Lim.

For those keen on cooking the macrobiotic way, look out for Lim’s second cookbook, Introduction to Tropical Macrobiotics, which will be out by the end of November. The book covers the principles of yin and yang, food intake, cooking rice the healthy way, combining meals in a balanced way, and features 50 recipes. Lim’s first book is Basic Vegan Cooking.

Macrobiotics is for anyone who cares about their health, says Lim. “It’s a misconception to say that macrobiotics is an expensive lifestyle.

Caffeine : The World's Most Consumed Drug

I'm sure there are many of you who can't function throughout the day without your daily dose of coffee, whether it's a single cup per day or hour. We seem to hear conflicting research results about the effects of coffee on our health: one day they say that coffee is good for you; the next day, it's bad. I'm just gonna touch a bit on what I've read up about caffeine, the active substance in that drink that so many of us are addicted to. A bit of insight couldn't hurt :)

What is caffeine?
1.Chemical name: 1,3,7-trimethylxanthine - 3 methyl groups on carbon 1,3 & 7 of a xanthine molecule buhaha!
2.Simulates the central nervous system: affects behavior like alertness, anxiety, mental performance & sleep patterns.
3.Naturally occuring in tea, coffee, cocoa, chocolate products & is added to soft drinks (another reason not to take that Coke?) plus certain prescription drugs.
4.Standard caffeine content in these bevearages & drugs have been set (in an average cup of 150 ml): ground roasted coffee 85mg, instant coffee 60mg, decaf 3mg, leaf/bag tea 30mg, instant tea 20mg, cocoa/hot chocolate 4mg.

Ingestion...
1.Caffeine absorption from the gastrointestinal tract is rapid: complete within 45 min after ingestion.
2.Caffeine content in the blood plasma reaches its peak 15-120 min after ingestion.
80% of caffeine is demethlyated to paraxanthine
3.80% of caffeine is demethlyated to paraxanthine
4.In the urine: about a dozen caffeine metabolites but <3%>

The effects :
1.Caffeine antagonizes the effects of adenosine: caffeine competes with adenosine at cell surface A1 & A2a adenosine receptors, affecting the cell's usual response towards adenosine concentrations.
2.This deviations from normal response causes change in behavior.
3.The effects of caffeine varies from individual to individual as not everyone will have the same tolerance level towards caffeine.

Don't consume coffee if you have ...
1. Generalized anxiety/panic attacks
2.Prostate problems
3.Menopause/PMS
4.Liver disease

Conclusion
Again, I believe moderation is key. Too much caffeine can be bad, having some couldn't hurt. Reaching for decaffeinated coffee may be redundant as it does contain caffeine; drinking 10 cups of decaf is equivalent to 2 cups of normal coffee. This isn't a message to coffee addicts telling y'all to quit, but merely a simple blog entry about the substance many of us are so fond of/dependent on. Health is wealth, they say. So is knowledge~!

Hahaha i've read more news here than i've ever read it anywhere else..Thanks guys..Anyway i've just finished reading Can You Keep a Secret by Sophie kinsella..Reading this it make me wonder how much our secret strain us from being ourselves. The world is surely going to be much better if everybody's honest with each other especially to themselve. Unfortunately we care about what other people would think too much thus we kept our secret hidden in the deepest and secluded area in our heart, increasing it's burden capacity. for me i prefer being given the painstakenly truth rather than being lied to. i don't think there's anybody in this world like being lied to n i'm definately one of them..it's romantic u know that the hero in this novel finally the one who revealed Emma's secrets to the world n teach her that there's nothing wrong to let people know the truth about herself no matter how bad it is..it'll make you more comfortable confronting the world without any burden in your heart..
Well i think u guys should read it..Sophie Kinsella's definately funny n witty..her books really worth to buy.

~~Police kill two Indonesians on wanted list

KLANG: Police shot dead two wanted Indonesian robbers in Bukit Tinggi early yesterday as they were on their way by car to sell their loot.
A team from the state police headquarters had been tailing the two men from Taman Bayu Perdana in an unmarked car, but the two soon realised this and tried to outrun the police car.

During the chase, one of the men aimed a gun at the police car, prompting the team to open fire. Both robbers died instantly.

State Criminal Investigation Department chief Senior Assistant Commissioner II Hasnan Hassan, who arrived at the scene shortly after the 1am shooting, said the two men were part of a four-man gang that had committed at least 10 armed robberies over the past two months.
The group had committed crimes in Johor, Negri Sembilan and Selangor. "They always used their gun and parang. They targeted high value items like copper and jewellery."

The Indonesians were identified as Supardi, 28, who was driving the car, and Firman, 39.

Hasnan said police found RM200,000 worth of road survey equipment in the boot of the car.

"The equipment was reported stolen in Johor recently and we believe they were on their way to meet a buyer."

Fried Green Apples

Those of you who haven't read this article about Apple's attempts at environmentalism can save yourselves a bit of time. Why? Simply because as of January 2007, Apple was at the bottom of a list ranking the most environmentally friendly technology companies. And since then all that has changed is Apple's inclusion of this Web page on their site. For now, Apple continues to rely on form and function over the greening taking place across the country.

Strangely enough, Dell was at the top of that list, showing that while groups like Greenpeace may be in favor of the company (relatively speaking), consumers are not, favoring Apple's design and perceived performance capabilities.

Jake from B|Net points out that although perceptions of Apple indicate that it would be an environmentally friendly company, the reality is otherwise.

"...I'm very much skeptical of the power of greening a brand to truly drive sales numbers. While eco-boosters may point to the success of companies like Whole Foods or Toyota as signs that people are using their wallets to save the icecaps, I think consumers will continue to be motivated by what they've always been motivated by: price and percieved value."
Well put. In terms of advertising their enviro-friendliness, Apple hasn't made a point to highlight efforts they're making. Tribble Ad Agency's The Founder, weighs in:

"It appears Steve Jobs got a 'have your cake and eat it too free pass' and what we find even more outrageous is that is that TBWA \ Chiat \ Day got the mega free pass on this as well..."

Rooney's best yet to come, says Fergie....

LONDON: Sir Alex Ferguson and Wayne Rooney have warned Manchester United's rivals that the best is yet to come from the England forward after he continued his remarkable goal-scoring run in the 4-0 victory over West Brom at Old Trafford.
Rooney scored one goal, and laid on others for Cristiano Ronaldo and Nani, with Dimitar Berbatov also claiming his first Premier League goal for the club as United kept pace with the early season title chasers.

But it is the promise of yet more lethal form to come from Rooney -- who turns 23 on Friday -- that most excited Ferguson as United start to show the form that made them champions of England and Europe last season.

"He's 23 and you expect players to improve," said Ferguson. "It's a natural process, like when Ronaldo was younger."

Rooney took his recent tally to eight goals for club and country in the last six games although Ferguson believes he will see more consistency from the forward as he matures.

"Wayne tends to go in spurts and that's probably a sign of his immaturity," added Ferguson.

"When he gets older, his goal-scoring will spread out better, that's a natural thing that will happen."

Rooney himself could barely conceal his delight as he, and United, prepare for the eagerly-awaited 'Battle of Britain' when the English champions host Glasgow Celtic, the Scottish champions, at Old Trafford tomorrow.

"Possibly, I am playing the best football of my career," said Rooney.

"I'm really enjoying it at the moment and feel fit. The team are really helping me with everything I do. Hopefully, that will continue and, hopefully, I can help this team win more trophies.

"Everyone will tell you I work hard in training and in games. I want to learn and listen to different people at the club to try and get better. If I can continue like this, I will be happy."

Ferguson and Rooney were also happy that Berbatov managed to break his league duck against Albion and, even though the Bulgarian appeared to have a relatively quiet game, Rooney believes their partnership is developing well.

"He has been brilliant," said Rooney. "He holds the ball up well and does things off the ball, as you saw with my first goal. He is a big presence and he is only going to get better at this club. "

Meanwhile, West Brom manager Tony Mowbray refused to be too downhearted after his team held United at bay impressively for almost an hour before collapsing late in the game.

"We defended naively in the second half," said Mowbray.

"But what matters to us is what happens against Hull City next week.

If we beat them, like we did against West Ham and Fulham, we will be alright. It's not what matters against these teams, like United, that matters to us."

SEMENYIH: A simple book donation handover to 90 orphans of Desa Amal
Jireh in Semenyih last night turned into a mock spelling contest when the
children learned that their guests were from the New Straits Times.

Delighted by the children's enthusiasm, the NSTP marketing staff
responded by organising an impromptu contest.

The orphans, ranging from 6 to 17 years, began by spelling words they
knew. Those who got the words right received NST file folders and
notebooks.

The children are now fired up for the June 14-15 Spell-It-Right (SIR)
challenge for Selangor schools, to be held at Subang Parade.

Several are hoping to be among the four contenders selected from their
respective schools to take part in the contest.

P. Yogeshwaran, IT and administration officer of Desa Amal Jireh, said
the students' enthusiasm for the spelling contest was sparked by the TV
commercial now airing on local channels.

"They started looking for harder words from the newspaper and began
challenging each other to spell them correctly."

The SIR challenge, jointly organised by NST and the RHB banking group,
is divided into two categories - primary and secondary.

It will also be conducted in two stages: the State Challenge and the
National Challenge.

The State Challenge is open to 36 schools from each state. Each school
can send a maximum of four representatives. Nine top spellers will
qualify for the state finals.

The state champions and runners-up in the primary school category will
bag RM1,000 and RM800 respectively, while the second runners-up will go
home with RM500.

The top three schools will be awarded a matching amount.
In the secondary category, state champions and runners-up will win
RM2,000 and RM1,500 respectively, while the second runners-up will get
RM1,000.

The top three schools will also receive the same amount.
The 14 state champions in each category will then compete in the
national finals, to be held at the National Museum auditorium in Kuala
Lumpur in August.

Flu Attacking!!!

Finally recover from flu...has been suffer from flu for few days...What a coincident i read bout it!

This is another peak seaoson of flu....In fact, incidence of flu in Malaysia peaks from April to June and from October to January.

Actually it is recommended that Malaysians get the flu jab before the flu season. We should never underestimate the harm of flu that can cause to our body especially children and old folk. The World Health Organisation (WHO) estimated that 250,000 to 500,000 people die of influenza annually, which also causes up to five million cases of severe illnesses. There is currently no comprehensive local data on the incidence of flu in Malaysia. Usually flu is not the main reason of deaths but rather, complications associated with flu, such as exacerbation of glucose control in diabetics and increased risk of heart attack and stroke.

According to the article, study found that with flu vaccination, there was a reduction in deaths by 68% among the elderly, respiratory illness by 56%, pneumonia by 53% and hospitalisation by 50%.With flu vaccines, we’re introducing the same thing (flu viruses) we would get through a normal infection but without the problems of a normal infection.. Flu vaccines have a 70% to 90% efficacy,10 people vaccinated, seven to nine will be protected.

I think people with poor immunity should get a vaccine for flu to ensure a healthier and more productive life.We must aware of flu sometimes may be harm to our health.

bgcaAssalamualaikum......
hi everyone.......

see again....
now i want to share with u all about "something"...ha.

Three Ways to Get Better Sleep and Improve Your Health...not a funny stories but its can give u something new...when u read this....ha.

1. Run like a German train..Put yourself on a regular schedule, going to bed and getting up at the This will cause your body to release melatonin at a consistent time every night—helping you fall asleep more easily.

2. Cut back on sleep killers, like the Diet Coke, Starbucks, Red Bull, or other caffeine pick-me-ups that you think you need because you're feeling exhausted. You'll be even more tired at first, but the deeper sleep you get will pay you back in full

3. Create a pre-sleep ritual. Ideally, nights should be as relaxing as possible, but try telling this to a working mom who needs to get a million things done. If your mind is sometimes still racing once you get into bed, you might want to set aside a few minutes to wind down. Before turning out the lights, read a few pages of a book, listen to some music, or just focus on your breathing......thats all form me.... enjoy your sleep...
thanks you....

i'm most interested read cartoon in this month......

Eyeshield 21 (アイシールド21, Aishīrudo nijūichi?) is a manga about American football written by Riichiro Inagaki and illustrated by Yusuke Murata. It has been adapted into an anime movie in 2004 (shown at Jump Festa), an anime television series in 2005, several video games and a trading card game from Konami.

The manga is serialized in Shueisha's Weekly Shōnen Jump. The twenty five volumes have collectively sold over 16 million copies in Japan, and the number of children playing American football has almost doubled in the four years since it began.[1] The manga is published in English by VIZ Media.[2]

The anime version, produced by NAS and animated by Artland, premiered across Japan on TV Tokyo from April 6, 2005, and ended March 19, 2008 with episode 145. The anime is sponsored by NFL Japan. The English dub "aired" on the free on-demand Toonami Jetstream as a joint effort with NFL Rush on December 17, 2007,[3] however it is unknown if any more episodes will be dubbed. It is also aired in Taiwan.

The plot of Eyeshield 21 revolves around a physically unassuming and non-assertive boy named Sena Kobayakawa who enters the high school of his choice, Deimon Private Senior High School, where his childhood friend Mamori Anezaki who attended the year before. His only remarkable physical abilities are his running speed, and intense agility; The result of a school life spent complying with the demands of bullies, it was revealed later a friend taught him how to run quickly as a base. His abilities quickly catches the eye of the high school's American football team captain Yoichi Hiruma who forces Sena to join the Deimon Devil Bats as it's running back.

To protect his identity to prevent other teams in the school to recruit him for his speed, Sena is forced to publicly assume the role of team secretary, and enter the field wearing a helmet equipped with a green-tinted eyeshield in order to hide his features under the pseudonym of "Eyeshield 21." The makeshift team initially takes part in the Spring football tournament hoping to win with through the strength of their new "secret weapon." However, the extremely weak team is eliminated early on by the Ojo White Knights, a powerhouse football team that focuses on defense. It is in this game that Sena meets the man he will acknowledge as his ultimate rival, Seijuro Shin, a talented linebacker.

After Deimon's defeat, the Spring tournament is revealed as a secondary in importance to the Fall tournament, where the teams compete for the chance to play in the "Christmas Bowl", the high school football league championship. Hiruma, Kurita and Sena regroup and slowly build a real team from other misfits and students looking to define themselves, such as Tarou Raimon a baseball player who can only catch, The Three Ha-Ha Brothers. Other characters slowly join the team as the series follows the building and growth of the Deimon Devil Bats and its members as well as various rival teams as they all strive to achieve their goal of playing in the Christmas Bowl.

Konami appears to have the rights to produce Eyeshield 21 games for Sony video game systems. They have released Eyeshield 21: Portable Edition (アイシールド21 Portable Edition, Eyeshield 21: Portable Edition?) for the Playstation Portable in March 2, 2006 and Eyeshield 21: AmeFoot Yarou ze! Ya! Ha!! (アイシールド21 アメフトやろうぜ! YA-! HA-!!, Eyeshield 21: AmeFoot Yarou ze! Ya! Ha!!?) for the Playstation 2.

Nintendo secured the rights to the Eyeshield 21 video game license for their systems in December 2004. They have released Eyeshield 21: MAX Devil Power (アイシールド21 MAX DEVILPOWER!, Eyeshield 21: MAX Devil Power?) for the Nintendo DS in February 2, 2006 and Eyeshield 21: Devilbats Devildays (アイシールド21 DEVILBATS DEVILDAYS, Eyeshield 21: Devilbats Devildays?) for the Game Boy Advance in April 6, 2006. Another game was scheduled for release on the Nintendo GameCube, but it was later canceled.

Nintendo published an Eyeshield 21 game for the Wii, entitled Eyeshield 21: The Field's Greatest Warriors (アイシールド21 フィールド最強の戦士たち, Aishīrudo 21: Field Saikyō no Senshi Tachi?). It was released in Japan on March 8, 2007.[5]

Two non-football games have featured characters from the series, both on the Nintendo DS: Jump Super Stars and Jump Ultimate Stars. Various DevilBats and Shin from the White Knights appear in support cameos.

Deimon Devil Bats is the most popular character in this stories...
* Logo: Red 'Devil Bat', a fictional red bat-like creature with demonic horns, tail, and cartoon-like eyes and mouth.
* Uniform: Red jerseys with beige pants. Helmets are black with white facemask, and a red bat wing on each side inspired by the Philadelphia Eagles' helmets. Away uniforms are white with red numbers.
* The Devil Bats hail from Deimon Private Senior High School私立泥門高等学校 (Shiritsu Deimon Kōtōgakkō, Deimon Private Senior High School私立泥門高等学校?) and are the high school incarnation of the middle-school club, the Maoh Devil Bats. At Maoh and its first year at Deimon, the club had only three members: Yoichi Hiruma, Ryōkan Kurita, and Gen "Musashi" Takekura, who had to leave the team when his father fell ill. The story follows this team of protagonists after Sena Kobayakawa becomes their star running back under the series-eponymous codename, "Eyeshield 21".
* The team's chant is "Kill'em! YA-HA!" (ブッコロス!YA-HA!!, Bukkorosu! YA-HA!!?)
* The team is extremely offense-based, due to the preferences of their captain Hiruma, and because of the team's initial lack of a kicker, which disadvantages them in low-scoring games.

Koigahama Cupids is the second character in the EYESHIELD....
* Logo: Cupid
* Team colors: Crimson and Pink
* The Cupids are a very weak team who are defeated in both of the games they are depicted playing in. They are known for the presence of all the team members' girlfriends at every one of their games. It is against this team that Eyeshield 21 makes his debut by scoring the winning touchdown. The Cupids set the worst record in the Fall Tokyo Tournament, losing to the Seibu Wild Gunmans 10-125. Koigahama surrenders during the third quarter.
* In their volume 1 match against the Devil Bats, Shin comments that the Cupids have a decent offense, but Sakuraba notes that their weak linemen are no match for Kurita. Kumabukuro rates the team with 'D's in all categories, marking them as an overall subpar team.

Is too many to tell....hope you can read yourself in KREOKO and its own comic which sell in the bookshop...

thats all from me today

Issue of homosex become the world issue now....

Homosexuality, or the sexual and/or emotional desire for others of the same gender as oneself, is found widely among the societies of the world. However, the social acceptance of it varies dramatically. In fact, the range in permissiveness and restrictiveness with regards to homosexual acts is at least as great as it is for heterosexual ones. In the United States, for instance, there has been a wide difference in legal restraints on sexuality from state to state. Some states, like California, essentially have the same restrictions on both homosexuality and heterosexuality. That is, all sex acts that do not lead to bodily harm are legal as long as they are done with consenting adults in private. However, California shares the oldest age of consent (18) among the states. The youngest (13) is in New Mexico.
Fourteen states, Puerto Rico, and the U.S. military have criminalized "unnatural sex acts" or "crimes against nature"--that is, they have anti-sodomy laws. Sodomy is generally defined as anal or oral copulation with another person or animal. It is also sometimes defined in law more ambiguously as non-reproductive sex. Ten of these states extended anti-sodomy laws to heterosexual partners as well. There has been considerable variation in the possible penalty for this crime. In Louisiana, for instance, sodomy has been a felony that could result in a 5 year prison sentence, $2000 fine, and exclusion from public jobs such as teaching and the law. In Idaho, it theoretically could result in life in prison. However, few people are prosecuted under anti-sodomy laws in the U.S. In Arkansas, for instance, the current anti-sodomy law has been in existence since 1977, but there have not been any prosecutions based on it. In June 2003, the U.S. Supreme Court struck down a Texas anti-sodomy law. This decision very likely will have the effect of nullifying all such laws in the country. These legal changes regarding homosexuality apparently reflect a growing acceptance, or at least tolerance, of it among the general public.
Elsewhere in the world, attitudes and legal consequences for homosexuality vary from wide acceptance in Western Europe to absolute rejection in some nations of the Middle East, Africa, and Asia. In sixteen nations, the punishment for sodomy can be life in prison or even death. The most severe penalties are in the Islamic nations that adhere to traditional law based on interpretations of the Koran .
In considering this information, it is important to keep in mind that the existence of harsh legal consequences for homosexuality does not necessarily result in people being prosecuted. In Afghanistan, for instance, there is a widespread tradition of male homosexuality. Estimates of the number of Afghan men who engage in sex with teenage boys or other men at some time in their lives range from 18-50%. This unusually high frequency is quite surprising since Islamic law in Afghanistan mandates that sodomy be punished by being burned at the stake, pushed off of a cliff, or crushed under a toppled wall. In 1998, three homosexual men were executed in the city of Kandahar by the then ruling ultraconservative Taliban by having a tank push a brick wall over on them.
There is a curious double standard in regards to anti-homosexual laws--they do not always apply to lesbians. This may be due to the fact that the existence of female homosexuality is less likely to be socially acknowledged or that it is considered acceptable behavior, at least in private. This double standard is most common in the South Pacific Islands, the non-Islamic nations of Africa, and some Caribbean Islands on which a high percentage of the population has Sub-Saharan African ancestral roots. Governments may even officially deny that any form of homosexuality occurs. This apparently has been the the case in Albania, Bangladesh, Congo, Lebanon, and Liberia.
In 1991, the World Health Organization removed homosexuality as an illness from their classification of diseases. Contrary to common belief in Western Nations, laws criminalizing homosexuality are not universally disappearing around the world. In the 1990's, Nicaragua enacted a law making it a crime. However, in the same decade, 8 nations and territories rescinded their anti-homosexuality statutes (Bahamas, Belize, Chile, Hong Kong [China], Ireland, Latvia, Russia, and Ukraine).

In some societies, homosexuality has been socially accepted but limited to certain times and to certain individuals. For example, The Papago Indians of southern Arizona traditionally set aside nights during which any man could perform homosexual acts. Women could as well if they had the permission of their husbands.
The Papago also had a socially accepted status for transvestite men. They wore women's clothing throughout the year and did women's chores. Unmarried men were allowed to visit them for homosexual acts.
NOTE: transvestitism, or the wearing of clothes and bodily adornment normally associated with the other gender, is not necessarily connected with homosexuality. It is important to understand the specific cultural patterns. In North America, for instance, some strictly heterosexual men are sexually stimulated by putting on female clothes, especially undergarments. Likewise, many homosexual men do not wear such garb or even approve of it.
There is a double standard in regards to transvestitism, or cross dressing, in North America today. Women are permitted to wear overtly masculine clothing without social disapproval, especially in business and recreational settings. However, American men are much more restricted in their clothing choices. When it becomes known that a man wears dresses or other female garb, he is almost universally stigmatized and often labeled as a homosexual. This can have major negative effects on his career, social life, and even personal safety.
The anthropologically most well known transvestites who also often happened to be homosexuals were the berdache, or two-spirited, men of the North American Great Plains Indian tribes. These men led the lives of women and had socially accepted statuses--they were valued members of their societies.
Heterosexual Plains Indian men who were going on hunting or war expeditions generally held the view that sex with their wives or other women was polluting and depleting. In contrast, a two-spirited man did not pose these dangers. As a result, two-spirited men were regularly taken along to perform women's chores and to entertain. Some of them were renowned story tellers.
The Hijras of India are another example of a culturally accepted (or at least tolerated) male transvestite status. These are men who dress as women but apparently are not often homosexual. Many Hijras even have their genital organs surgically removed to symbolize their transition to "womanhood." They are devotees of the Hindu mother goddess Bahuchara Mata. Through emasculation, they express their faith in her and become conduits for her power. The Hijras are difficult to label as to gender. They identify themselves as "incomplete men", "incomplete women", or "inbetweens", but the Indian national census counts them as women. There are about 50,000 true Hijras today living mostly in North Indian urban centers. They work at many different kinds of jobs including construction. However, the largest percentage of them make their living by blessing babies and entertaining at parties. Some of the better Hijra musicians, dancers, and singers perform regularly in Indian films. Recently, a few of the Hijras have successfully run for public office, especially in Utar Pradesh State. In 2003, however, a court in Madhya Pradesh State ruled that a Hijra must give up his office as mayor of Katni because he is a male and this political office was reserved for women. There are 10's of thousands of other eunuchs and homosexuals in India who dress as women and falsely claim to be Hijras. Many of them make their living on the edges of society by prostitution or by extorting money for blessing children. Few people refuse to give them money for fear of being cursed.
The Etoro and some other societies of the Trans-Fly River region in southern New Guinea provide an extreme example of the social acceptance of male homosexuality. Apparently, all Etoro men engage in homosexual acts and most also marry and engage in heterosexual acts with their wives. However, heterosexual intercourse is prohibited for up to 260 days of the year and is forbidden in or near their houses and vegetable gardens. In contrast, homosexual relations are permitted at any time.

The Etoro believe that homosexual acts make crops flourish and boys strong. Etoro men and women mostly live apart so that social contact between them is generally limited and often hostile. Not surprisingly, their birth rates are low. To compensate for this problem and to avoid depopulation, they allegedly have stolen children from neighboring societies and raised them as their own.
There is no clear explanation as to why societies are permissive or restrictive in regards to homosexuality. However, there are two interesting correlations. First, societies that strongly forbid abortion and infanticide are likely to be equally intolerant of homosexuality. Second, societies that have frequent severe food shortages are more likely to allow homosexuality. An implication is that homosexuality may be tolerated and even encouraged when there is severe population pressure. Heterosexual abstinence and other birth control methods would be expected to be common then also. That appears to have been the case with the Plains Indians and some New Guinea societies.
NOTE: It is not clear what leads one person to be homosexual and another to be heterosexual or bisexual. Both environmental and social factors have been proposed by psychologists and others engaged in researching this question. In reality, both kinds of factors may be involved to some degree. In addition, an individual may change sexual preference at different phases of his or her life. Anthony Bogaert's recent research at Brock University in St. Catharines, Ontario, Canada indicates that birth order within a family may be an important factor in male homosexuality. He found that the more biological older brothers a man has, the more likely he will be homosexual, and that it does not matter if he is raised with his older brothers. It may be that each succeeding pregnancy with a male child somehow causes a mother's immune system to respond to male fetuses in a way that changes their sex-related brain development. This same correlation between male birth order and homosexuality does not occur if older siblings are half-brothers, stepbrothers, or adopted brothers. (Science News Vol. 170 July 1, 2006).

Toxic history

— Half of all dangerous goods seized in Europe in 2007 came from China

— Last year China found two companies guilty of intentionally exporting contaminated pet food

— US authorities last year gave warning that monkfish imported from China may be puffer fish, containing a potentially deadly toxin

— In 2005 Sudan 1, a carcinogenic food colouring, was found in Chinese branches of KFC

— In January a survey found almost two thirds of Chinese people were worried about food safety

Sources: European Commission, Times archives

I would say that, if more food from china is recall or simply being banned from entering any country, i bet the country will face another cruel economic crisis within its country. The cruel acquaintance by the people and the government have been the main reason for all this to happen.

EXAMS & STUDYING :
Well I've been a student for most of my life (probably will be so for a couple more yrs), & I know very well how student life is wrought with EXAMS.
We need to have a good solid studying method to help us get through & achieve. This list is basically what I do & what other people do to prepare for exams, I got these advice from various people, so here it is:

1.Have a schedule: I don't really have one, I've tried but I could never follow through. Many of my friends do & it's really helpful, it organizes the time & you can partition it to give the necessary focus for a certain subject. Plus you get to make time for other activities too!

2.Prioritize: sometimes we may have many things to do yet the exam date isn't budging. Decide the priorities: highlight what needs to be done first. Then it'll be easier to put them into schedule.

3.Be healthy: make sure you eat enough, starving during the exam period is NOT an option.

4.Pay attention in class: I know sometimes we don't get awesome teachers/lecturers but paying attention helps you to keep track of what you've learned in the syllabus & will help you to plan your revision later. Plus you may get some hints you won't find in the books!

5.Relax: if you've been cooped up with that book for too long, you better stop & go on outside.

CONCLUSION :
Everyone has their own method of studying & certain things may not fit well but remember the goal is to do well in the tests! However, don't beat yourself up if you do not get the results you hope for. Don't give up & keep trying! Plus life isn't all about exams: you need other skills to survive & succeed!

What causes excessive hair loss?

A number of things can cause excessive hair loss. For example, about 3 or 4 months after an illness or a major surgery, you may suddenly lose a large amount of hair. This hair loss is related to the stress of the illness and is temporary.

Hormonal problems may cause hair loss. If your thyroid gland is overactive or underactive, your hair may fall out. This hair loss usually can be helped by treatment thyroid disease. Hair loss may occur if male or female hormones, known as androgens and estrogens, are out of balance. Correcting the hormone imbalance may stop your hair loss.

Many women notice hair loss about 3 months after they've had a baby. This loss is also related to hormones. During pregnancy, high levels of certain hormones cause the body to keep hair that would normally fall out. When the hormones return to pre-pregnancy levels, that hair falls out and the normal cycle of growth and loss starts again.

Some medicines can cause hair loss. This type of hair loss improves when you stop taking the medicine. Medicines that can cause hair loss include blood thinners (also called anticoagulants), medicines used for gout, medicines used in chemotherapy to treat cancer, vitamin A (if too much is taken), birth control pills and antidepressants.

Certain infections can cause hair loss. Fungal infections of the scalp can cause hair loss in children. The infection is easily treated with antifungal medicines.

Finally, hair loss may occur as part of an underlying disease, such as lupus or diabetes. Since hair loss may be an early sign of a disease, it is important to find the cause so that it can be treated.

What is IBS?

Irritable bowel syndrome is when your intestines don't function propperly and have trouble passing food from the stomach through the intestines to the bowel.

The intestines are a big muscle that contracts and relaxes to move food from your stomach through your intestines to your bowel. Normally, the intestines contract and relax in a coordinated rhythm. But if you have IBS these contractions don't work as well and food can be forced through your intestines more quickly, causing wind, bloating and diarrhoea. Or in some cases the opposite happens and food passes through very slowly and you get cramps and constipation.

Keeping a food diary can help you to find out if there are any foods or drinks that are causing the symptom, for example caffeine is a common trigger. Whatever seems to create problems for you, cut them out and see if that makes a difference.

Stress is a cause for many sufferers. Try to set aside a few minutes each to day to relax and never eat when you're stressed, this could make your symptoms worse.

Take a probiotic and a prebiotic supplement - you can get them from health food shops and chemists. These are the good bacteria that your digestive system needs and the enzymes your gut bacteria needs to thrive.

What should I do to protect my skin from the sun?
Follow these "safe-sun" guidelines whenever you are in the sun:

* Stay out of the sun, if you can, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., when the sun is strongest.
* If you have to be out in the sun, wear a long-sleeved shirt and long pants to protect your skin. Wear shirts made from tightly woven cloth, like long-sleeved cotton t-shirts. If the clothing fits loosely, you will feel cooler. Special sun-protective clothes are available from several companies, such as Solumbra Sun Precautions
* Wear sunglasses to protect your eyes from the sun. Sun exposure increases your risk of getting cataracts.
* Wear a wide-brimmed hat to help protect your face, neck and ears from the sun. The best hat to wear in the sun has a brim that's at least 6 inches all around. Baseball caps and similar hats don't protect your ears and neck.
* Use sunscreen with a sun protection factor (SPF) of at least 15, even on cloudy days. Clouds don't protect your skin from sun damage. Only sunscreen can do that. Use lots of sunscreen and rub it in well. Put the sunscreen on 30 minutes before you go outside. Put the sunscreen everywhere the sun's rays might touch you, including your forehead and face, your ears, the back of your neck and any bald parts on the top of your head. Some sunscreen products say they won't drip into your eyes. You can try those products on your face if that's a problem for you.

As a conclusion, we all should protect our skin as well because the sun's rays, also called ultraviolet or UV rays, damage the skin. The short-term results of unprotected exposure to UV rays are sunburn and tanning. In the long run, unprotected exposure to UV rays can cause skin cancer.

What is gynecomastia?
Gynecomastia is a condition in which firm breast tissue forms in males. The breast tissue is usually less than 1-1/2 inches across and is located directly under the nipple. Gynecomastia may be present on one side or on both sides. This condition may make the breast tender.

Some men and boys have fat on their chests that makes it look like they have breasts. This condition is called pseudogynecomastia (false gynecomastia). It is not the same thing as gynecomastia.

Gynecomastia is usually caused by changes in hormones at puberty or as part of aging. Gynecomastia may be caused by changes in the balance of 2 hormones: estrogen and testosterone. In rare cases, gynecomastia may be caused by prescription drugs, over-the-counter medicines, illegal drugs, tumors or disease.

However, breast cancer is very rare in males. Lumps caused by cancer are usually not underneath the nipple--where breast tissue from gynecomastia grows. Breast cancer feels different than the breast tissue of gynecomastia. Breast cancer may also cause dimpling of the skin or a bloody discharge from the nipple.

Can I trust nutrition information I get from newspapers and magazines?
Nutrition tips and diet information from different sources often conflict with each other. You should always check with your doctor first. Also, keep in mind the following advice:

* There is no "magic bullet" when it comes to nutrition. There isn't one single diet that works for every person. You need to find an eating plan that works for you.
* Good nutrition doesn't come in a vitamin supplement. Only take a vitamin with your doctor's recommendation, as your body benefits the most when you eat healthy foods.
* Eating all different kinds of foods is best for your body, so learn to try new foods.
* Fad diets offer short-term changes, but good health comes from long-term effort and commitment.
* Stories from people who have used a diet program or product, especially in commercials and infomercials, are advertisements. These people are usually paid to endorse what the ad is selling. Remember, regained weight or other problems that develop after someone has completed the diet program are never talked about in those ads.

Salam everyone..

All of we know that many product from china contain melamin.

This product is to dangerous and if we take in a high of amount it will cause death..

i have read about this recently in nst paper..

JAPAN FIND MELAMINE IN EGG POWDER

TOKYO: A Japanese company said the toxic chemical melamine was found in dried egg powder imported from China as a scandal over tainted milk that has sickened thousands of babies keeps growing.

Mitsui & Co said on Thursday it had recalled egg powder after detecting a small amount of melamine inside it.

Egg powder is often used to flavour pastries, cooked pasta and confectionery products.

Mitsui imported 20 tonnes of Chinese egg powder last month, most of which was sold to Q.P. Egg Corp, a unit of Japanese mayonnaise maker Q.P. Corp, the company said.

Some 0.4 tonnes of egg powder had already been consumed, it said, but no health problems had been reported.

The finding came after Chinese manufacturer Dalian Hanovo Foods informed Mitsui that melamine was detected in its egg powder products and poultry feed.

Mitsui has "recalled all the egg powder products that have not been used and plans to send them back to China or destroy them", it said in a statement.

The Japanese Health Ministry said melamine was detected in frozen fried chicken imported from China. The fried chicken has not been distributed in the market, according to the ministry.

hello everyone....
Let we share the story about
"LOVE and TIME"

Once upon a time, there was an island where all the feelings lived: Happiness, Sadness, Knowledge, and all of the others, including Love. One day it was announced to the feelings that the island would sink, so all constructed boats and left. Except for Love.

Love was the only one who stayed. Love wanted to hold out until the last possible moment.

When the island had almost sunk, Love decided to ask for help.

Richness was passing by Love in a grand boat. Love said,
"Richness, can you take me with you?"
Richness answered, "No, I can't. There is a lot of gold and silver in my boat. There is no place here for you."

Love decided to ask Vanity who was also passing by in a beautiful vessel. "Vanity, please help me!"
"I can't help you, Love. You are all wet and might damage my boat," Vanity answered.

Sadness was close by so Love asked, "Sadness, let me go with you."
"Oh . . . Love, I am so sad that I need to be by myself!"

Happiness passed by Love, too, but she was so happy that she did not even hear when Love called her.

Suddenly, there was a voice, "Come, Love, I will take you." It was an elder. So blessed and overjoyed, Love even forgot to ask the elder where they were going. When they arrived at dry land, the elder went her own way. Realizing how much was owed the elder,

Love asked Knowledge, another elder, "Who Helped me?"
"It was Time," Knowledge answered.
"Time?" asked Love. "But why did Time help me?"
Knowledge smiled with deep wisdom and answered, "Because only Time is capable of understanding how valuable Love is."

Thank you from me...

Today i want share the story about " Building Your House"

An elderly carpenter was ready to retire. He told his employer-contractor of his plans to leave the house-building business to live a more leisurely life with his wife and enjoy his extended family. He would miss the paycheck each week, but he wanted to retire. They could get by.

The contractor was sorry to see his good worker go & asked if he could build just one more house as a personal favor. The carpenter said yes, but over time it was easy to see that his heart was not in his work. He resorted to shoddy workmanship and used inferior materials. It was an unfortunate way to end a dedicated career.

When the carpenter finished his work, his employer came to inspect the house. Then he handed the front-door key to the carpenter and said, "This is your house... my gift to you."

The carpenter was shocked!

What a shame! If he had only known he was building his own house, he would have done it all so differently.

So it is with us. We build our lives, a day at a time, often putting less than our best into the building. Then, with a shock, we realize we have to live in the house we have built. If we could do it over, we would do it much differently.

But, you cannot go back. You are the carpenter, and every day you hammer a nail, place a board, or erect a wall. Someone once said, "Life is a do-it-yourself project." Your attitude, and the choices you make today, help build the "house" you will live in tomorrow. Therefore, Build wisely!

Stress,anxiety,worry,angry....All are negative emotions. It will break your front line and attack you if your EQ,emotional quotient is not high enough.

In my point of view,to be a well-rounded person IQ,intelligence quotient is important but EQ is yet important.

Here want to share with u all about a pshycological disorder that is anxiety disorder that seems to be common nowadays.

I have been concern about this issue cause a friend of mine was a victim of this disorder.Well,i will share the information i have read here.

According to the article Generalized anxiety disorder (GAD) is an anxiety disorder that is characterized by excessive, uncontrollable and often irrational worry about everyday things that is disproportionate to the actual source of worry. They often exhibit a variety of physical symptoms, including fatigue, headaches, nausea, muscle tension, muscle aches, difficulty swallowing, trembling, twitching, irritability, sweating, insomnia, and hot flashes.

From the article, the most effective tretment nowadays is Cognitive behavioral therapy.it is a psychological method of treatment for GAD, which involves a therapist working with the patient to understand how thoughts and feelings influence behavior.[12] The goal of the therapy is to change negative thought patterns that lead to the patient's anxiety, replacing them with positive, more realistic ones. Elements of the therapy include exposure strategies to allow the patient to gradually confront their anxieties and feel more comfortable in anxiety-provoking situations, as well as to practice the skills they have learned. CBT can be used alone or in conjunction with medication.

Although some research suggests that anxiety disorder may run in families but it may also grow in people in high srtess level.Once this psycological disorder develops it can be chronic.I have witnessed how my friend suffer from it.I hope none of us would be the next to be diagnosed to have this problems.

I am here would like to say "Do practise a healthy lifestyle."Take some actions tht may improve general mental resilience such as execise when you feel tension.

Hope you guys can lead a healthy and stress free lifestyle!^^

I believe some of you has the experience of sending your clothes for dry cleaning. But do you know that it's actually not as clean as we think? It's much depend on how good is your dry cleaner.Let's me share with you guys what i have read this afternoon...

Dry cleaning is the process involves soaking garments in perchloroethylene (or perc), a dry cleaning agent.Well, chances are your garments may have been washed in cleaning agent that was contaminated.

Some laundry outlets put off recycling (or distilling) their cleaning agent to perhaps the end of the week or month. As a result, the solution may not be clean and may become a breeding ground for bacteria, causing garments to smell sometimes.

Pressto, a leading Spain-based cleaning specialist, has more than 500 stores in over 20 countries. It began operations in Malaysia in 2006.This compamy has introduce more hygienic dry wash system where the cleaning agent will be transferred to distilation tank to be distillate before recycled for the next wash.

So,we must choose which laundry that we will send our clothes for dry washing wisely.

Let we share the story about
"The Wooden Bowl "

A frail old man went to live with his son, daughter-in-law, and a four-year old grandson. The old man's hands trembled, his eyesight was blurred, and his step faltered. The family ate together nightly at the dinner table. But the elderly grandfather's shaky hands and failing sight made eating rather difficult. Peas rolled off his spoon onto the floor. When he grasped the glass often milk spilled on the tablecloth. The son and daughter-in-law became irritated with the mess. "We must do something about grandfather," said the son. I've had enough of his spilled milk, noisy eating, and food on the floor. So the husband and wife set a small table in the corner. There, grandfather ate alone while the rest of the family enjoyed dinner at the dinner table. Since grandfather had broken a dish or two, his food was served in a wooden bowl. Sometimes when the family glanced in grandfather's direction, he had a tear in his eye as he ate alone. Still, the only words the couple had for him were sharp admonitions when he dropped a fork or spilled food. The four-year-old watched it all in silence.
One evening before supper, the father noticed his son playing with wood scraps on the floor. He asked the child sweetly, "What are you making?" Just as sweetly, the boy responded, "Oh, I am making a little bowl for you and mama to eat your food from when I grow up." The four-year-old smiled and went back to work. The words so struck the parents that they were speechless. Then tears started to stream down their cheeks. Though no word was spoken, both knew what must be done. That evening the husband took grandfather's hand and gently led him back to the family table.
For the remainder of his days he ate every meal with the family. And for some reason, neither husband nor wife seemed to care any longer when a fork was dropped, milk spilled, or the tablecloth soiled. Children are remarkably perceptive. Their eyes ever observe, their ears ever listen, and their minds ever process the messages they absorb. If they see us patiently provide a happy home atmosphere for family members, they will imitate that attitude for the rest of their lives. The wise parent realizes that every day that building blocks are being laid for the child's future.
Let us all be wise builders and role models. Take care of yourself, ... and those you love, ... today, and everyday!

His name was Fleming, and he was a poor Scottish farmer. One day, while trying to eke out a living for his family, he heard a cry for help coming from a nearby bog. He dropped his tools and ran to the bog. There, mired to his waist in black muck, was a terrified boy, screaming and struggling to free himself. Farmer Fleming saved the lad from what could have been a slow
and terrifying death.
The next day, a fancy carriage pulled up to the Scotsman's sparse surroundings. An elegantly dressed nobleman stepped out and introduced himself as the father of the boy Farmer Fleming had saved.
"I want to repay you," said the nobleman. "You saved my son's life."
"No, I can't accept payment for what I did," the Scottish farmer replied, waving off the offer. At that moment, the farmer's own son came to the door of the family hovel.
"Is that your son?" the nobleman asked. "Yes," the farmer replied proudly.
"I'll make you a deal. Let me take him and give him a good education.
If the lad is anything like his father, he'll grow to a man you can be proud of."
And that he did. In time, Farmer Fleming's son graduated from St. Mary's Hospital Medical School in London, and went on to become known throughout the world as the noted Sir Alexander Fleming, the discoverer of Penicillin.
Years afterward, the nobleman's son was stricken with pneumonia.
What saved him? Penicillin.
The name of the nobleman? Lord Randolph Churchill.
His son's name? Sir Winston Churchill.
Someone once said what goes around comes around.

Let we read together....:-)

A young man was getting ready to graduate from college. For many months he had admired a beautiful sports car in a dealer's showroom, and knowing his father could well afford it, he told him that was all he wanted.

As Graduation Day approached, the young man awaited signs that his father had purchased the car. Finally, on the morning of his graduation, his father called him into his private study. His father told him how proud he was to have such a fine son, and told him how much he loved him. He handed his son a beautifully wrapped gift box. Curious, but somewhat disappointed, the young man opened the box and found a lovely, leather-bound Bible, with the young man's name embossed in gold. Angry, he raised his voice to his father and said "With all your money, you give me a Bible?" and stormed out of the house, leaving the Bible.

Many years passed and the young man was very successful in business. He had a beautiful home and wonderful family, but realized his father was very old, and thought perhaps he should go to him. He had not seen him since that graduation day. Before he could make arrangements, he received a telegram telling him his father had passed away, and willed all of his possessions to his son. He needed to come home immediately and take care of things.

When he arrived at his father's house, sudden sadness and regret filled his heart. He began to search through his father's important papers and saw the still new Bible, just as he had left it years ago. With tears, he opened the Bible and began to turn the pages. And as he did, a car key dropped from the back of the Bible. It had a tag with the dealer's name, the same dealer who had the sports car he had desired. On the tag was the date of his graduation, and the words PAID IN FULL.

How many times do we miss Spirit's blessings and answers to our prayers because they do not arrive exactly as we have expected?
TODAY'S's affirmation: "Today I look beyond the obvious and allow miracles to be created in my life."

motivational sayings & stories -
" A Box Full of Kisses"

The story goes that some time ago, a man punished his 3-year-old daughter for wasting a roll of gold wrapping paper. Money was tight and he became infuriated when the child tried to decorate a box to put under the Christmas tree. Nevertheless, the little girl brought the gift to her father the next morning and said, "This is for you, Daddy."

The man was embarrassed by his earlier overreaction, but his anger flared again when he found out the box was empty. He yelled at her, stating, "Don't you know, when you give someone a present, there is supposed to be something inside? The little girl looked up at him with tears in her eyes and cried, "Oh, Daddy, it's not empty at all. I blew kisses into the box. They're all for you, Daddy."

The father was crushed. He put his arms around his little girl, and he begged for her forgiveness.

Only a short time later, an accident took the life of the child. It is also told that her father kept that gold box by his bed for many years and, whenever he was discouraged, he would take out an imaginary kiss and remember the love of the child who had put it there.

In a very real sense, each one of us, as humans beings, have been given a gold container filled with unconditional love and kisses... from our children, family members, friends, and God. There is simply no other possession, anyone could hold, more precious than this.

Hari Raya Aidilfitri (also Hari Raya Puasa, literally "Celebration Day of Fasting") is the Malay term for the Muslim festival of Eid ul-Fitr. Hari Raya is also known as Lebaran. Muslims in Brunei, Indonesia, Malaysia and Singapore celebrate Eid like other Muslims throughout the world. The term "Hari Raya" literally means "Day of Celebration" — it is also occasionally used to refer to Eid ul-Adha in the form of "Hari Raya Aidiladha". The main greeting used by Muslims in Malaysia and Singapore is "Selamat Hari Raya" which means "Happy Eid" in Malay. Another greeting is "maaf zahir dan batin" which translates loosely to "I seek forgiveness (from you) physically and spiritually", for Hari Raya is a time to reconcile and renew relationships with others.

let read together...

Zoo Job

One day an out of work mime is visiting the zoo and attempts to earn some money as a street performer. As soon as he starts to draw a crowd, a zoo keeper grabs him and drags him into his office. The zoo keeper explains to the mime that the zoo's most popular attraction, a gorilla, has died suddenly and the keeper fears that attendance at the zoo will fall off.

He offers the mime a job to dress up as the gorilla until they can get another one. The mime accepts.

So the next morning the mime puts on the gorilla suit and enters the cage before the crowd comes. He discovers that it's a great job. He can sleep all he wants, play and make fun of people and he draws bigger crowds than he ever did as a mime. However, eventually the crowds tire of him and he tires of just swinging on tires. He begins to notice that the people are paying more attention to the lion in the cage next to his. Not wanting to lose the attention of his audience, he climbs to the top of his cage, crawls across a partition, and dangles from the top to the lion's cage. Of course, this makes the lion furious, but the crowd loves it.

At the end of the day the zoo keeper comes and gives the mime a raise for being such a good attraction. Well, this goes on for some time, the mime keeps taunting the lion, the crowds grow larger, and his salary keeps going up. Then one terrible day when he is dangling over the furious lion he slips and falls. The mime is terrified.

The lion gathers itself and prepares to pounce. The mime is so scared that he begins to run round and round the cage with the lion close behind. Finally, the mime starts screaming and yelling, "Help me, help me!", but the lion is quick and pounces. The mime soon finds himself flat on his back looking up at the angry lion and the lion says, "Shut up you idiot! Do you want to get us both fired?"

Artist: Jason Mraz
Album: We Sing, We Dance, We Steal Things
Year: 2008
Title: I'm Yours

Well you done done me and you bet I felt it
I tried to be chill but you're so hot that I melted
I fell right through the cracks
And now I'm trying to get back
Before the cool done run out I'll be giving it my bestest
Nothing's going to stop me but divine intervention
I reckon it's again my turn to win some or learn some

But I won't hesitate no more, no more
It cannot wait, I'm yours
Mmmmm mmm
(hey, hey, hey, he-he-hey)

Well open up your mind and see like me
Open up your plans and damn you're free
I look into your heart and you'll find love, love, love, love
Listen to the music of the moment AND MAYBE SING WITH ME,I LOVE PEACE FOR MELODY
We're just one big family
And it's our God forsaken right to be loved loved loved loved loved

So I won't hesitate no more, no more
It cannot wait I'm sure
There's no need to complicate
Our time is short
This is our fate, I'm yours...
Doot-choo-do doot do-yoo,
Bah-too jou do-yoo do do
But don't you want to come on
A skootch on over closer dear?
And I will nibble your ear
A soonte boh boh boh boh bohn…
Whao ohoh ohoh hohoo
Whao-oh-oh-oh oh oh oh-wha-voh-voh-voh
Aha-ha!
Mhm-mm-mm-mm

I've been spending way too long checking my tongue in the mirror
And bending over backwards just to try to see it clearer
But my breath fogged up the glass
And so I drew a new face and laughed

I guess what I be saying is there ain't no better reason
To rid yourself of vanities and just go with the seasons
It's what we aim to do
Our name is our virtue

But I won't hesitate no more, no more
It cannot wait I'm yours

Open up your mind and see like me
Open up your plans and damn you're free
Look into your heart and you'll find... the sky is yours

So please don't, please don't, please don't
There's no need to complicate
'Cause our time is short
This-o this-o this is our fate, I'm yours

just read in the nst...
tomorrow Domestic Trade and Consumer Affairs Minister Datuk Shahrir Abdul Samad will announce the list of items whose prices will be reduced...
he said:
"As prices of raw materials are seeing a decrease, it is only right that they reduce prices of goods which are essential for households,"
Shahrir also added that the public could expect another round of reduction of fuel prices at the end of the month as the dip in crude oil prices had continued to be significant.
Pump prices have been reduced three times since August with the last being on Oct 15. RON97 is now RM2.30 per litre and RON92 is RM2.20 per litre. Diesel now costs RM2.20.
Asked on complaints from petrol station owners whose 12 sen per litre profit margin was affected by three sen due to the old stock, Shahrir said it was a business risk they had to face.
He added that they had been reminded not to replenish supply two days before an announcement was made.
"We understand their situation but if we were to reduce prices at the end of the month and at a bigger difference, it would have been worse for them."
On another matter, Shahrir said his ministry was studying a better distribution system of essential goods for rural areas.

I have read a n article recently...It's about health seems to be secondary to e-lifestyle nowadays.

When i read through this article i think the description of the writer are really makesense.

Music has become an essential aspect of life and for many, being able to listen to music on the go through an MP3 player or other portable devices is the best invention since sliced bread. Music from MP3 players or handphones integrated with a music player plugged into their ears, helps us carry through our day, especially when performing boring chores, travelling and just to relax.Although we have been being warned that the MP3/handphone generation may be heading for hearing impairment later in life.

Time and again, reports have been published on the possible health effects arising from the use of electronic devices such as hearing loss, eye strain, repetitive strain injury, cancer, birth defects and hormone disruption. Yet, we throw caution to the wind and carry on using our PCs, laptop computers, handphones and portable music devices, all of which have been linked to the above-mentioned health risks in some ways.

Our argument is that we cannot live without these devices, as we need them to enhance our lifestyle, boost productivity or stay in communication at all times.

I think most of you now who are sitting in front of your PC will strongly agree right?^^

Making habit of critical reading

I was attracted by this title i glance through the web site.I think it's important to have critical reading habit in this information blooming era.Critical reading means thinking carefully about an author’s claims, rather than accepting these claims at face value.

For example, with free services such as Google News available online for all to get information, it is a shame that there are still many As out there who would believe just about anything without doubt.Google News for Malaysia (http://news.google.com.my) brings together headlines from over 4,500 English-language news sources worldwide, groups similar stories together and even shows them on your screen according to your preference. The service also lets you decide which subject interests you and which source you would like to read about it from.

Critical thinking and reading skills will allow you
to separate strong from weak arguments, to develop your own opinions based on evidence and careful reasoning, and to sort through and make sense of a confusing mass of information.

I believes that reading is just like eating.Don’t simply devour everything.

Children doing well after heart operation in India

KUALA LUMPUR: The 17 children who were sent to the Narayana Hrudayalaya Hospital in Bangalore for heart surgery under a special programme have recovered, said Health Minister Datuk Liow Tiong Lai.

“We are very happy that all the children went through a safe operation and are doing very well,” Liow told reporters after opening Wisma LKL yesterday.

Liow said the programme, which saw the children being brought to India for affordable treatment for heart disease, would be continued in future.

The children, aged between nine months and 13 years, were sent to India when their families could not afford to seek medical help in local private hospitals or could not schedule treatment in government hospitals due to limited places.

For their referral treatment back in Malaysia, Liow said the children would be sent to hospitals close to their homes.

He said the costs of sending the children to the hospital in India was “affordable”, where each surgery was about RM10,000 while another RM4,900 was for accommodation and processing of visas.

On another matter, Liow said the ministry was currently working with Universiti Putra Malaysia in a research to investigate the migration of the chemical melamine from plastic containers to food.

“We will announce the types of plastics which may leach melamine once the results of the research are concluded,” he said.

that is good to know that we are doing such great things towards people who is really in need..
we should always proceed this kindness act to ensure that people in need will at least get some attention from us..

Let Love In
The Goo Goo Dolls
You wait, wanting this world
To let you in
And you stand there
A frozen light
In dark and empty streets
You smile hiding behind
A God-given face
But I know you're so much more
Everything they ignore
Is all that I need to see

You're the only one I ever believed in
The answer that could never be found
The moment you decided to let love in
Now I'm banging on the door of an angel
The end of fear is where we begin
The moment we decided to let love in

I wish
Wishing for you to find your way
And I'll hold on for all you need
That's all we need to say
I'll take my chances while
You take your time with
This game you play
But I can't control your soul
You need to let me know
You leaving or you gonna stay

You're the only one I ever believed in
The answer that could never be found
The moment you decided to let love in
Now I'm banging on the door of an angel
The end of fear is where we begin
The moment we decided to let love in

There's nothing we can do about
The things we have to do without
The only way to feel again
Is let love in

There's nothing we can do about
The things we have to live without
The only way to see again
Is let love in

You're the only one I ever believed in
The answer that could never be found
The moment you decided to let love in
Now I'm banging on the door of an angel
The end of fear is where we begin
The moment we decided to let love in

helo everybody....

the life in university actually make us stress right? so write down here three simple step to release our tension...hope you can practise...

firstly, calming an overactive mind. Place your fingertips on your forehead above each eye. Press firmly for
3-4 minutes while taking some deep breath

secondly, clearing tension and burdens with a “spinal flush.” We carry a lot of stressful energy on our backs,
which can develop into back problems. This technique is better if you have someone do it to you, and
then you do it to them. Stand behind the person receiving the “flush.” Place your fingers at the top of
their spinal column where the neck meets the back. Swipe your finger down the spinal column and off
the tailbone, the same movement you would use to swipe a credit card through a machine. Repeat the
swiping motion 4-5 times, flushing off the stressful energy. The person receiving the “flush” will startto feel tingly inside.ng some deep breath

the last one is calming your “fight and flight” energy. With so much media attention on war and violence our “fight
and flight” energy is in overdrive. Some of the residual effects of too much “fight and flight” energy
can be immune system problems like chronic fatigue, irritability, depression, anger, exhaustion. The
energy pathway that runs the “fight and flight” energy moves up and around each ear. To sedate and
calm this energy place your fingertips in front of each ear and while pressing gently smooth your fingersup and over the ears and off the back of your neck

gud luck...
