this article is about three friends.they had a holiday at new york city.It so happened that their room ended up being on the 60th floor.
in short, they need to climb up the stairs until 60th floor.the dialouge like this. “For the first 20 floors, I will tell jokes to keep us going. Then another one of us could say wisdom stories for the next 20 floors. Finally, we will cover the other 20 floors with sad stories...”but lastly, “My first sad story is that I left the key for the room in the car.”

the dialouge give big meaning for us because it is like our life. This story resembles our lifecycle. For the first 20 years of our life, we spend time in joking and enjoying whatever is out there. Then, after we reach 20, we go into the work force, get marriead, have kids and this is the time when we use our wisdom. Then, if we reach 40, we finally see the white hairs and begin to think that my life is coming to an end and the sadness begins.
we will face this situation.so we need experience to face the problems and make our life full of memories..

i actually dont get this novel with me.i comment it based on what i had read it from the website.i found this novel is interesting and someday i would like to have one with me...=]
this novel is actually a film adaptation that has been written by Steven Kloves.
it is all about a 15-years old boy named as Christopher Boone. He had discovered the dead of Wellington(his neighbour's dog)which is speared by a garden fork. The Wellington's owner reports to the police about that.As he wants to clear up his name, he tried to find out who is the real culprit.Christopher had a father that name is Ed. Ed told to his son that his wife had died because of the heart attack. At the climax of the story, Christopher at last know the truth that he don't know before.the culprit of the murdered dog is actually his father.and he also find out that his mother is still alive.his father just lied to him.
for me, this novel is a good reading material which is it's moral values are very useful to use.the author want we be like Christopher.he had strong determination. he tried and tried to find out the culprit eventhough in this story Christopher is described as a person who had Asperger syndrome.it is stated at the back cover of the novel.Christopher is very optimistic about his future, having successfully solved the incident of the murdered dog, gone to London on his own, found his mother, written a book and got an A in his A-level Maths exam.we should make him as an example in our life...=]

recently,,i had read an article at internet and i think that article was interesting..here,i want to share with you all about that article..it is about "7 definitive signs he's in love with you"

Every woman wants a sure shot way of knowing that a man you are moving around with is in love. Men generally do not say because they are afraid that the women might not be feeling the same way.so,, here are some sign to guide you..

1) The first sign is his willingness and desire to be with you.He would make it a point to call or meet even if it be for a very little time of the day.

2) One of the most important among the 7 signs that he’s in love with you is the fact that he gives very less attention to other females. If he loves you this awareness decreases and he is willing to concentrate on you.

3) The third sign is when he revels in the physical proximity. He would want to be as close to you physically as possible.

4) He is concerned about your well being and wants to make you happy at all costs.

5) A man is ready to commit if he wants to know other people who are close to him know that you exist.

6) Men have their timetables generally set; he does not want to be disturbed when he does his favorite thing. If he makes an allowance for you and decides that he wants to do something with you, then it means that he is interested in you.

7) One of the most definitive signs of the 7 signs that he’s in love with you. Is the fact that he plans his future around you or with you? If he thinks that in the future that he sees for himself, you are an important part then he is definitely in love with you and wants to have a long term relationship. He would mostly talk of living together, marriage or kids.

so,,all the woman, you have a power, don't just leave it to fate or wait for him approach you.

Last tuesday,i had taken the english test.I have to compare and contrast between corset and foot binding...after the test i had serve the internet to find more about the corset because it is very famous a few years ago..so, i am so interested with that..here are some information that i get from the serving...

Corsets have been around for centuries, and just like body shapers, they help squeeze a figure into the desired form. Body shapers are simply a more modern and typically more comfortable version of a corset. Body shapers can shape any part of the body, not just the waist and bust.

By now, most of you have heard of body shapers, and also know that they simply provide us a means to improve our appearance. While, body shapers do not provide any permanent benefits, they do provide a quick and easy way to look dramatically better.

A corset is a garment worn to mold and shape the torso into a desired shape for aesthetic or medical purposes (either for the duration of wearing it, or with a more lasting effect). Both men and women are known to wear corsets, though women are more common wearers.

In recent years, the term "corset" has also been borrowed by the fashion industry to refer to tops which, to varying degrees mimic the look of traditional corsets without actually acting as one. While these modern "corsets" and "corset tops" often feature lacing and/or boning and generally mimic a historical style of corsets, they have very little if any effect on the shape of the wearer's body. Genuine corsets are usually made by a corsetmaker and should ideally be fitted especially for the individual wearer.

Advantages

* Corsets promote good posture
# Corsets can make a woman appear thin.
# Corsets can give a straight masterful posture.[1]
# The straight posture accentuates the bosom.
# Corsets can instantly reduce the waistline by 5-10cm (2-4").
# Corsets can spread the weight of big gowns.

Disadvantages

*Health risks
*The abdomen can be covered by a skirt. Those seeking to save money may buy a cheap corset that ends at the top of the abdomen, pressing down on the abdomen (as seen in a previous image). A more expensive corset will have some sort of abdomen support, whether that be in the form of a busk, front lacing or a hip belt.

Assalamualaikum..

today i have read a nice story about al-Quran.so, i hope we can take some moral value from this article.

An old American Muslim lived on a farm in the mountains of eastern Kentucky with his young grandson. Each morning Grandpa was up early sitting at the kitchen table reading his Qur'an. His grandson wanted to be just like him and tried to imitate him in every way he could.

One day the grandson asked,
"Grandpa! I try to read the Qur'an just like you but I don't understand it, and what I do understand I forget as soon as I close the book. What good does reading the Qur'an do?"

The Grandfather quietly turned from putting coal in the stove and replied,
"Take this coal basket down to the river and bring me back a basket of water."

The boy did as he was told, but all the water leaked out before he got back to the house.

The grandfather laughed and said,
"You'll have to move a little faster next time,"

He sent him back to the river with the basket to try again. This time the boy ran faster, but again the basket was empty before he returned home. Out of breath, he told his grandfather that it was impossible to carry water in a basket, and he went to get a bucket instead.

The old man said,
"I don't want a bucket of water; I want a basket of water. You're just not trying hard enough,"

He went out the door to watch the boy try again. At this point, the boy knew it was impossible, but he wanted to show his grandfather that even if he ran as fast as he could, the water would Leak out before he got back to the house. The boy again dipped the basket into river and ran hard, but when he reached his grandfather the basket was again empty.

Out of breath, he said,
"See Grandpa, it's useless!"

"So you think it is useless?"

The old man said,
"Look at the basket."

The boy looked at the basket and for the first time realized that the basket was different. It had been transformed from a dirty old coal basket and was now clean, inside and out.

"Son, that's what happens when you read the Qur'an. You might not understand or remember everything, but when you read it, you will be changed, inside and outside. That is the work of Allah in our lives."

from this story, i can conclude that read Al-Quran frequently as it will purify our heart. When we have pure heart, it is easy to do righteous and leave jahiliyah and badness in ourselves.

thank you.

exotic pets

Pets are normal parts of people’s lives; it isn't at all unusual for a person to have a dog, a cat, a bird, a fish, or even a frog at home. However, some people aren't content with just having these common domesticated animals as pets.

Things to consider before deciding to be an exotic pet owner:

- When choosing an exotic pet, it is important to know the reasons for owning one and the responsibilities needed for keeping one.

- Find Out The Laws:

It is illegal to own certain types of pets in some states. You need to do your homework so that you will be completely informed. There's nothing worse than falling in love with an animal and then finding out that it's illegal for you to keep it. You should be able to research the state exotic pet adoption laws online.

- Health Care for your Exotic Pets

Veterinary costs for treatment of exotic animals may be significantly higher than for a more conventional pet due to the increased specialization. Having your exotic pet on a regular check up with a veterinarian is an important part on your exotic pet’s health as well as your family health some animals are known to carry diseases that can affect humans, such as salmonellosis and rabies. Similarly, some human diseases can be dangerous for certain animals (like strep throat).

- Appropriate environmental conditions, housing and diets for exotic pets

Providing appropriate environmental conditions, housing and diet for an exotic pet may be difficult for several reasons:

insufficient information may be available on caring for exotic pet

adequate housing may be difficult and/or expensive to procure or build

it may be difficult to provide the correct environment for the exotic pets (such as temperature or amount of sunlight)

feeding the correct diet for exotic pets

providing the right social environment for highly social species

However, exotic pets care and husbandry information for many commonly kept amphibians, reptiles, birds, and small exotic mammals are widely available through literature, animal enthusiast groups, and Internet websites and discussion forms.

So, you're ready to become an exotic pet owner. Choose the best exotic pets for you. Common exotic pets include turtles, rabbit, skunks, degus, fox or event an alligator.

"WHY ISLAM IS AND WHY PEOPLE LOVE IT"

Understanding why the expression “I love Islam” exists can tell us much about the nature of Islam and may enable us to understand a lot of what is happening in our world today, from the rise of Islamic militancy and terrorism, to cartoon rage, to the increasing tendency of Muslims to mark themselves off from others by the way of their dress, among many other things.

First we need to know what is the thing that is loved. It is evidently not God, or else Agnes would have likely said so. What is loved, which means what Islam is, is a way of living, a lifestyle, an identity, a history, a tradition, a sense of belonging to a worldwide community, a community which is highly fractured and prone to bitter internal conflicts, yes, but one which nevertheless deeply yearns for the unity of the “ummah”.

The problem we are faced with today, or that Muslims are faced with, is that their way of life, which is one way of saying their religion, and then, logically, even themselves, is under enormous pressure. Cultures and peoples do not survive for ever, weaker ones are annilihated by the stronger, and while this has happened since the beginning of history it is today that the process of destruction of traditional cultures goes on at a frenetic pace, due to new technologies and what people usually call globalization.

Which brings us back to loving Islam. Love can be displayed in many different ways and it can be at its most intense when we fear that the object of our affection will leave us or be taken away, and the biggest, most powerful stars burn brightest when they are dying.

how to write a thriller novel?

Today, as I was surfing the net came across an article about 'How to write a thriller novel?'. From the article I obtained many interesting and useful information about writting a thriller novel. Initially, before we write a thriller novel you should browse the shelves of your local bookstore to see what kind of thriller seems to be flying off the rack. Technological thriller novels may be hot, or the book season may be defined by political intrigue. Later, determine what is missing in the current market. Ask yourself what isn't being done right now that will likely appeal to a mass audience. Then, ask dedicated thriller novel readers what it is they like best about the genre. Remember that writing for your audience is key to being successful with any kind of popular fiction.
Now while you start writing your novel, pace your novel intelligently. Readers appreciate enough character development to make them care about the people in the story, but they still crave for adventure. You can also insert crisp dialogue to make the characters talk like real people. At the same time, only include conversations relevant to the advancement of your story. Another technique is to put your protagonist in dangerous situations and keep raising the stakes. A hero has to continually defy expectations to keep your readers turning the page.
Finally, when you are done with your writing, seek an agent specializing in thriller fiction. Thrillers are quite lucrative if placed with the proper publishing house. Think of ways to actively and creatively market your manuscript. Entering novel contests are an excellent way to attract an agent's attention. You must remain active in your book's promotion once it is published. Authors who believe in their work convince readers that it is worth reading.

I love watching my brother's sports car.i wish i will be able to have my own sports car.having my own sports car....??? hmm....,might take few years, before that i have to graduate and find a job, save money...fewww... then my dream might come true.while surfing internet come across a article about sports car, that i would like to share.A sports car is a term used to describe a class of automobile. The exact definition varies, but generally it is used to refer to a low to ground, light weight vehicle with a powerful engine. Most vehicles referred to as sports cars are rear-wheel drive, have two seats, two doors, and are designed for more precise handling, acceleration, and aesthetics. A sports car's dominant considerations can be superior road handling, braking, maneuverability, low weight, and high power, rather than passenger space, comfort, and fuel economy.

Sports cars can be either luxurious or spartan, but driving mechanical performance is the key attraction. Many drivers regard brand name and the subsequent racing reputation and history as important indications of sporting quality (for example, Ferrari, Porsche, Lotus), but some brands, such as Lamborghini, which do not race or build racing cars, are also highly regarded.
A car may be a sporting automobile without being a sports car. Performance modifications of regular, production cars, such as sport compacts, sports sedans, muscle cars, hot hatches and the like, generally are not considered sports cars, yet share traits common to sports cars. They are sometimes called "sports cars" for marketing purposes for increased advertising and promotional purposes. Performance cars of all configurations are grouped as Sports and Grand tourer cars, or, occasionally, as performance cars.

BEING WITH MOTHER

hi everyone,
i would like share about a article or maybe a story written by a son about his mother.through this story i learned, that it is important to give our loved ones the time that they deserve.Nothing in life is more important than your family, believe me!!!Give them the time they deserve, because these things cannot be put off till some "other" time.
the story:
After 21 years of marriage, my wife wanted me to take another woman out to dinner and a movie. She said, "I love you, but I know this other woman loves you and would Love to spend some time with you."The other woman that my wife wanted me to visit was my Mother, who has been a widow for 19 years, but the demands of my work and my three children had made it possible to visit her only occasionally. That night I called to invite her to go out for dinner and a movie."What's wrong, are you well?" she asked. My mother is the type of woman who suspects that a late night call or a surprise invitation is a sign of bad news."I thought that it would be pleasant to spend some time with you," I responded. "Just the two of us."She thought about it for a moment and then said, "I would like that very much."That Friday after work, as I drove over to pick her up, I was a bit nervous. When I arrived at her house, I noticed that she, too, seemed to be nervous about our date. She waited in the door with her coat on. She had curled her hair and was wearing the dress that she had worn to celebrate her last wedding anniversary. She smiled from a face that was as radiant as an angel's. "I told my friends that I was going to go out with my son and they were impressed," she said, as she got into the car. "They can't wait to hear about our meeting."We went to a restaurant that, although not elegant, was very nice and cozy. My mother took my arm as if she were the First Lady. After we sat down, I had to read the menu. Her eyes could only read large print. Half-way through the entrees, I lifted my eyes and saw Mother sitting there staring at me. A nostalgic smile was on her lips."It was I who used to have to read the menu when you were small," she said."Then it's time that you relax and let me return the favor," I responded.During the dinner , we had an agreeable conversation nothing extraordinary but catching up on recent events of each other's life. We talked so much that we missed the movie. As we arrived at her house later, she said, "I'll go out with you again, but only if you let me invite you."I agreed."How was your dinner date?" asked my wife when I got home."Very nice, much more so than I could have imagined," I answered.A few days later, my mother died of a massive heart attack. It happened so suddenly that I didn't have a chance to do anything for her.Sometime later, I received an envelope with a copy of a restaurant receipt from the same place Mother and I had dined. An attached note said:"I paid this bill in advance. I wasn't sure that I could be there; but, nevertheless, I paid for two plates - one for you and the other for your wife. You will never know what that night meant for me. I love you, son."At that moment, I understood the importance of saying in time: 'I love YOU' .

ENGLISH

English is a west Germanic language originating in England and is the first language for most people in United States, United Kingdom, Canada,Australia , New Zealand , Ireland and Anglophone Caribbean. It is used extensively as a second language and as an official language throughout the world, especially in Commonwealth countries and in many international organisations.
Modern English , sometimes described as the first global lingua franca is the dominant international language in communications, science, business, aviation, entertainment, radio and diplomacy. The initial reason for its enormous spread beyond the bounds of the British Isles where it was originally a native tongue was the British Empire, and by the late nineteenth century its influence had won a truly global reach. It is the dominant language in the United States and the growing economic and cultural influence and status as a global superpower since World War II has significantly accelerated adoption of English as a language across the planet.

A working knowledge of English has become a requirement in a number of fields, occupations and professions such as medicine and as a consequence over a billion people speak English to at least a basic level (see English language learning and teaching).

Linguists such as David Crystal recognize that one impact of this massive growth of English, in common with other global languages, has been to reduce native linguistic diversity in many parts of the world historically, most particularly in Australasia and North America, and its huge influence continues to play an important role in language attrition. By a similar token, historical linguists, aware of the complex and fluid dynamics of language change, are always alive to the potential English contains through the vast size and spread of the communities that use it and its natural internal variety, such as in its creoles and pidgins, to produce a new family of distinct languages over time.

English is one of six official languages of the United Natio

pink panther
i'm sure everybody knows about pink panther cartoon.but personally i don't like the cartoon character, because that character is really irritating.but i got the idea blogging about pink panther because there is a new blockbuster movie, pink panther2 acted by my favourite hindi actress aishwarya rai.The Pink Panther cartoon character is the main character in a series of animated short films. The character originally appeared in the opening and closing credit sequences of the 1963 live-action feature film The Pink Panther. The popularity of the character spawned a series of animated short films, and the character would appear in the opening sequence of every film in The Pink Panther series (except A Shot in the Dark and Inspector Clouseau). The cool cat starred in 126 shorts (either theatrical or made-for-television), 10 television shows and 3 prime-time television specials. The animated Pink Panther character's initial appearance in the live action film's title sequence, directed by Friz Freleng, was such a success with audiences and United Artists that the studio signed Freleng and his DePatie-Freleng Enterprises studio to a multi-year contract for a series of Pink Panther theatrical cartoon shorts.
As Pink Panther historian Jerry Beck notes, "Classic animation pretty much died in the '60s, everyone had kind of bailed out. But his creators didn't rest on their laurels. They didn't make the cartoons to look like Warner Bros. cartoons, or Disney cartoons, or the UPA look of Mister Magoo and Gerald McBoing-Boing. They came up with their own clever new style. The only other important cartoon of the '60s was Yellow Submarine.
The Pink Panther was therefore a notable contribution to the animation art form. Top animation directors such as Hawley Pratt, Robert McKimson, and Sid Marcus contributed to a distinctive style, supported by master story writer John W. Dunn. Produced after theatrical cartooning's golden age of the 1940s and 50s, they were constrained to the limited animation techniques applied to Saturday morning cartoons of 1960s and after. Within these limitations, the Pink Panther made creative use of absurd and surreal themes and visual puns and an almost completely wordless pantomime style, set to the ubiquitous Pink Panther theme and its variations by Henry Mancini. The overall approach is reminiscent of the classic silent movies of Charlie Chaplin and Buster Keaton

galaxy!!!!
A galaxy is a massive, gravitationally bound system consisting of stars, an interstellar medium of gas and dust, and dark matter. The name is from the Greek root galaxias [γαλαξίας], meaning "milky," a reference to the Milky Way galaxy. Typical galaxies range from dwarfs with as few as ten million (107) stars up to giants with one trillion (1012) stars, all orbiting a common center of mass. Galaxies can also contain many multiple star systems, star clusters, and various interstellar clouds. The Sun is one of the stars in the Milky Way galaxy; the Solar System includes the Earth and all the other objects that orbit the Sun.

Historically, galaxies have been categorized according to their apparent shape (usually referred to as their visual morphology). A common form is the elliptical galaxy, which has an ellipse-shaped light profile. Spiral galaxies are disk-shaped assemblages with curving, dusty arms. Galaxies with irregular or unusual shapes are known as peculiar galaxies, and typically result from disruption by the gravitational pull of neighboring galaxies. Such interactions between nearby galaxies, which may ultimately result in galaxies merging, may induce episodes of significantly increased star formation, producing what is called a starburst galaxy. Small galaxies that lack a coherent structure could also be referred to as irregular galaxies.

There are probably more than 100 billion (1011) galaxies in the observable universe. Most galaxies are 1,000 to 100,000 parsecs in diameter and are usually separated by distances on the order of millions of parsecs (or megaparsecs). Intergalactic space (the space between galaxies) is filled with a tenuous gas of an average density less than one atom per cubic meter. The majority of galaxies are organized into a hierarchy of associations called clusters, which, in turn, can form larger groups called superclusters. These larger structures are generally arranged into sheets and filaments, which surround immense voids in the universe.

Sony Ericsson!

Sony Ericsson is a joint venture established in 2001 by the Japanese consumer electronics company Sony Corporation and the Swedish telecommunications company Ericsson to make mobile phones. The stated reason for this venture is to combine Sony's consumer electronics expertise with Ericsson's technological leadership in the communications sector. Both companies have stopped making their own mobile phones.

The company's global management is based in Hammersmith, London, and it has research & development teams in Sweden, Japan, China, Germany, the United States, India, Pakistan and the United Kingdom.

Ericsson, which had been in the cellular phone market for decades, decided to divest this business in 2001 following huge losses. Ericsson had decided to source on chips for its phones from a single source, a Philips facility in New Mexico. In March 2000 a fire at the Philips factory contaminated the sterile facility. Philips assured Ericsson and Nokia (the other major customer of the facility) that production would be delayed by less than a week. When it became clear that production would actually be compromised for months, Ericsson was faced with a serious shortage. Nokia had already begun to obtain parts from alternative sources, but Ericsson's position was much worse as both production of current models and the launch of new ones was held up.

Sony Ericsson currently concentrates on the categories of: music, camera, business (web and email), design, all-rounder, and budget focused phones. The Walkman-branded W series music phones, launched in 2005.The Sony Ericsson W-series music phones are notable for being the first music-centric series mobile phones, prompting a whole new market for portable music that was developing at the time. Sony Ericsson’s Walkman phones have previously been commercially endorsed by pop stars Christina Aguilera and Jason Kay across Europe.

The Cyber-Shot-branded line of phones, launched in 2006 in newer models of the K series phones. This range of phones are focused on the quality of the camera included with the phone. Cyber-shot phones always include a flash, some with a xenon flash, and also include auto-focus cameras. Sony Ericsson kicked off its global marketing campaign for Cyber-shot phone with the launch of ‘Never Miss a Shot’.

High-tech seats

Image: LORD-D5090VRS Leather from RH.jpg

Magnetorheological technology allows Lord’s Motion Master suspension system to compensate for real-time data such as operator mass and changing levels of shock and load vibration.

I read an article about suspension seat that is installed with latest technology gadgets. This article is taken from SAE Off Highway Engineering Online, which is some of SAE online magazines.

I like this article because the product that shown in the article is good for users who drive big vehicles such as buses or trucks. The technologies can provide better environment for the driver to make sure that the driver is in good condition. Just imagine, the seat can be adjusted its moisture condition, the surrounding temperature and the suspension sensitivity as what the driver want. It is also can make the driver keep safe and comfort in any climates or temperatures.

I like to see that this product can give better driving experience to the driver so that can reduce the number of accident that involves big vehicles. Better driving experience will give better future for road users. Soon, it is not possible to see that road is one of the safest places in the world.

~RECYCLE~

Assalamualaikum...

Everyone should recycle as much of their waste as possible to prevent reusable materials being buried in land fill waste sites. Recycling does not cost anything, takes only a little extra time, and can make an amazing difference to the world.
In many regions recyling boxes are not provided which people can use to collect recyclable materials for collection at the same time as their domestic waste. Where that is not the case recycling banks are always close by and waiting for your waste. Simply keep a couple of plastic boxes next to your waste bin and decide if whatever you plan on throwing away can be recycled. If it can, put it in the right box.

~Water butts~

Collecting rainwater is essential for any person who wants to be self-sufficient. Apart from the environmental benefits of using rainwater rather than chemically treated potable water in the garden, with water meters becoming more common it can save you a considerable amount of money each year. Crops prefer rainwater to tap water, and it's great for washing your hair too!

A water butt is a large container used to store water. There are many commercial water butts available in DIY shops, online, and at garden centres etc, but they tend to be pretty expensive. A cheaper alternative is to purchase large recycled human food, animal feed, and similar containers and use these as water butts, or to use large plastic dustbins.

She told me today that she has been associating with a man of 69 years. There relationship is not a sexual one, it’s not strictly plutonic. Annie is just as in love with this man as she was with her husband. She is giddy, excited, happy, flustered, confused, whimsical, whirling, wild, and woozy. (I got the last four words by inserting “giddy” in the search box at http://thesaurus.reference.com.)

Annie wanted to know if she was wrong in associating with this man who loves her, cooks for her, and who bought her a new walker. I told her it was absolutely wonderful that she could be in love again and that she could marry the man if she loved him. That made her very happy. I felt like God.

That must be one of the complexities of love that our webmaster was talking about. She felt guilty for loving a man other than her late husband. Love can come on fast and threaten stable relationships. Infatuation quickly turns to love. It’s the nature of the beast. So we must be careful what we do when we feel these urges of infatuation that lead to love. But if we are free and easy, we shouldn’t worry about past relationships. We should not feel guilty for being in love. We should enjoy the springtime. And age doesn’t count.

Maybe I will write a love story someday. Well, I doubt that. After reading this article, I’m sure of it.

Feelings

Feelings are not the same as emotions. This fact is not clearly recognised, especially as definitions of them tend to be ambiguous and vague. Confusion often abounds in ideas and articles about them.

One area of confusion is that feelings are often loosely equated with emotions. This is all right for colloquial use. I can ask a friend how he is feeling today ; it would be awkward to ask him how emotional he is being today. Some people might take offence if they were thought to be emotional, whereas it is acceptable for them to show feelings. However, there are fundamental differences between feelings and emotions.

There are a multitude of emotions, but only three feelings.

There are just three feelings : the pleasant one, the unpleasant one, and the neutral one. This is the Buddhist understanding and I verified this fact directly during the time when I used to practise meditation. In the past, some moral theorists believed that the neutral feeling is only an equal mixture of both pleasant and unpleasant feelings, so that the net effect is zero. But meditational awareness disproves this assumption.

The importance of feelings is that they help give rise to emotions, that is, the bases of all emotions are the three feelings.

Model of Emotions

Emotions are partly derived from feelings. To explain how this derivation occurs I use a model of consciousness that is a traditional one: consciousness has three modes, those of will, mind, and feeling. Past variations on this model substituted action for will, and emotion or sensibility for feelings. In this model I distinguish between consciousness and mind. Consciousness is the totality of the person, whilst mind is only one feature of it. However, my model has an innovative featurethe three modes are separate, but they : interlock by the production of desires and emotions.

In this model, mind has two aspects, intelligence and intellect. Intelligence links to will and to feeling, and intellect is the source of abstraction. The former expresses the activity of the mind, whilst the latter is an indication of the degree of maturity of the mind. Mind is the key to consciousness. Mind, in fact, is the ‘cement’ that keeps all aspects of consciousness together. [¹]

Now the mind helps to produce desires and emotions. In this aspect of mind we use ideas or concepts.

I give definitions of desire and emotion that brings out their reliance on concepts.

Will is a pure striving, an undirected effort. When will is united with mind, it generates desire. Desire is the activity of will directed into a mental concept. The concept governs the use of will. The concept directs the will.

For example, will plus the concept ‘social status’ gives rise to the desire to achieve social status. Will plus the concept ‘fame’ gives rise to the desire for fame. Without the presence of desire it is very difficult to sustain the use of will ; if a person tries to renounce desire then he / she is quite likely to become lethargic.

When feeling is united with mind, it generates emotion. Emotion is the activity of feeling directed into a mental concept. The feeling energises a conceptual response to a stimulus. Feelings are primarily either pleasant or unpleasant ; rarely are they neutral. Hence there are two possible conceptual responses to any stimulus, which in turn leads to two possible emotional responses.

For example, feeling plus the concept ‘domination’ gives rise to the emotions of anger and fear : anger arises because the pleasant feeling makes domination of others acceptable to me, whereas the unpleasant feeling makes fear arise when I become subject to domination by others.

For another example: feeling plus the concept ‘identity’ gives rise to the emotions of love and hate. Here the pleasant feeling makes a social identity acceptable to me, since I am the same as everyone else: identity produces love. The unpleasant feeling makes me reject a social identity – I prefer to be different and have an individual identity: difference produces hate.

knowledge

Awareness of or familiarity with something or someone, or confidence in the accuracy of a fact or other information. Knowledge is often defined as justified true belief, although philosophers dispute what would count as justification here, and some philosophers have argued that knowledge does not involve but replaces belief. The philosophy of knowledge is epistemology.

For Plato, knowledge is of the Forms, or universals, whereas belief is of changing, material things. For English philosopher John Locke, knowledge is ‘the perception of the agreement or disagreement of two ideas’. French mathematician RenĂ© Descartes thought his ‘cogito ergo sum’/‘I think, therefore I am’ was an item of certain knowledge. English philosopher Gilbert Ryle contrasts knowing how and knowing that: moral knowledge is knowing how to behave, whereas factual knowledge is knowing that something is the case.

Athletes and Personality Type
Is there a relationship between personality type and sport preference? How do people choose the sport they participate in? Would it be a matter of personality preference? Are certain personality types more attracted to certain sports, like in careers? Why some people prefer individual sports over team sports? What do basketball players have in common?

In order to answer questions related to athletes' personality type, over five hundred athletes were tested and evaluated by this author. To examine the relationship between personality types, sport preferences and performance, team and individual athletes' personality profiles were designed.

Results indicated that teams exhibit a predictable personality profile and that by understanding the psyche of the athlete, performance and team productivity can be enhanced. Interpersonal communication amongst players and coaching staff can improve, players can take advantage of their personal preferences and strengths and work on developing other areas identified in the assessment process. Optimal communication and performance can be achieved by identifying the athletes preferred learning and personality styles.

Personality types are attracted to and succeed in certain sports just like they do in certain occupations. The more athletes and coaches understand about their personalities and the team profile, the more productive they can be.

An automobile or motor car is a wheeled motor vehicle used for transporting passengers, which also carries its own engine or motor. Most definitions of the term specify that automobiles are designed to run primarily on roads, to have seating for one to eight people, to typically have four wheels, and to be constructed principally for the transport of people rather than goods.[1] However, the term automobile is far from precise, because there are many types of vehicles that do similar tasks.
Automobile..

As of 2002, there were 590 million passenger cars worldwide (roughly one car per eleven people).Around the world, there were about 806 million cars and light trucks on the road in 2007; they burn over 260 billion gallons of gasoline and diesel fuel yearly. The numbers are increasing rapidly, especially in China and India.

Nutrition & Sports
by Kurt A. Krueger, M.S. Ed.

Nutrition fuels the body for daily living and peak performance. When a person refines their nutrient intake, the potential for peak performance is in most cases heightened dramatically. The concept of chemical synergism comes into play. You will get more energy from the input than the sum of the individual foods would offer.

Michael Colgan, M. D. presented the keynote speech on Nutrition at the 1984 Olympic Scientific Congress that showed proper personalized nutrient intake improved marathon times an average of 11 minutes as compared with the placebo groups 7 minutes (this placebo effect illustrates the effect a person's mind has on performance), strength increased up to fifty percent, and for those who had been anywhere malnourished, I.Q. was enhanced by over 20 points.

Nutrition can affect the mind in positive or negative ways. The neuroendocrinologist, R. Wurtman showed in a study that complex-carbohydrates can have the same effect on people as anti-depressant drugs -- they can improve mood, diminish sensitivity to negative stimuli, and ease the way to sleep.

The spirit is affected by and can affect food. We will suggest information on the former. Oriental research over the centuries has shown that the best food for the body/mind/spirit is: fresh, whole, unadulterated, and as live as possible. "Live" vegetables offer a person more highly oxygenated food with an ability to oxygenate their system. It should be grown naturally, without chemicals. Recent studies as described by Dr. Gabriel Cousens M.D. in the book Spiritual Nutrition and the Rainbow Diet have shown that the energy structure of organic food is organized, while non-organic food had incoherent/scattered energy patterns. The premise for using organic foods is then that the organized food molecules will have an organizing effect on the body's molecules, and waste no energy, thus, maximizing human functions.

Nutrients for the human being are also air, liquids, and thoughts. The purist of each is obviously the best for optimizing performance and health. The amount of nutrients, as well as when and how they are ingested, can be as important as what we ingest. The use of muscle testing or Behavioral Kinesiology is commonly used to find the appropriate kind and amount of food, vitamins, and minerals for an individual who cannot consult a qualified nutritionist. Diamond, in the small book Your Body Doesn't Lie, presents a succinct description for using this technique.

For the book 'The Curious Incident of The Dog In The Night Time',actually I don't have the book but I found it on the website.I can summarize a little bit about it.It is about Christopher discovers the dead body of Wellington, his neighbor's dog, speared by a garden fork. Mrs Shears, Wellington's owner, calls the police. The police try to grab Christopher; they caution him after he hits one of the officers. He decides to investigate to clear his name. However, he is severely limited by his fears and difficulties when interpreting the world around him. Throughout his adventures, Christopher records his experiences in a book, The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-time. During his investigation, Christopher meets people whom he has never before encountered, even though they live on the same street. The book closes with Christopher optimistic about his future, having successfully solved the incident of the murdered dog, gone to London on his own, found his mother, written a book, and got an A in his A-level maths exam.

That's all.Thank you.

DO MALAYSIAN SHOWER BEFORE GO TO BED

I read this article in the star online.
It make me want to read that article. That article make me think about it.

Less than half of Malaysians hit the showers before they turn in for the day.

According to a recent survey conducted by CloveTWO.com and Kosmo! newspaper, only 44% shower right before going to bed.

Still, while showering before bedtime is important, it's absolutely crucial that antibacterial soap/shower gel – such as Lifebuoy's antibacterial soap - is used.

When showering, extra attention should be given to areas of the body where most people neglect, such as the back, behind ones ears and ankles, and between the toes – all bacteria-prone spots.

And why is it important to shower just right before bedtime? Well, simply because everyone, whatever their age, are constantly exposed to bacteria; at school, in the garden, at the office etc.

Then of course there's the little forgotten fact that the bed itself makes for the perfect breeding ground for all sorts of microorganisms. Dead skin cells, perspiration, the body's natural oils etc all contribute to making your bed the ideal harborage for bacteria, dust mites, and bed bugs. All these could lead to a wide range of health problems.

Showering in the morning, before the activities of the day, is also recommended. It freshens up the body, removing the build-up of bacteria during the night, and of course, perks you up to start the day.

For those with sensitive skin who are prone to skin irritation that leads to scratching, showering twice a day - in the morning and night - is absolutely vital.

THINKING OF THEM

Suddenly I think about my parents. So, I do write about it. My parents are very giving hope to me to be a good daughter and a good example sister to my 6 siblings. Before I came to UMP to continue my study, they had remembered me to study with full of willingness. Don’t be too obsessed with study. For them, if I study with my own willing, l can do whatever I want to do.
Be the eldest sister in a family is not an easy job. Yes, it is not our choice to be the eldest one, but, once be born to be the eldest, we should be grateful for it. To be an example to other sisters and brothers make me put some efforts’ for it. I don’t want my sisters and brothers follow me as a bad sister. I want they proud of me of being their sister.
My last word is, I’ll make my parents proud of having me as their daughter.
