Measure for Measure! K28

What interesting measuring system you have! Did you enjoy the activity?
What system of measurement did you choose as a group?
Was it hard using the item you've chosen to measure?
What did you learn?
And how will you apply what you've learnt in Technical writing?

oraitt..juz came back frm maths test..wana throw my stress far away by bloging..huhu..
d activity was quite fun..
tho the room was a bit small..
our group chose WING or 'depa' in Malay..we changed the name so tat it wud be unique n diff..
it was damn hard actually coz we gotta measure the room, heights n evn longest nose!!! every inch of it wud be count..OMG..it's ridiculous man..
i duno wat did i get frm the activity...
is it how we measure our capabilities in doin work??
is it how we count every words we write in essays??
or is it how we deeply look into ourselves n knowing ol those characteristics of our's??
no matter wat it is...
we shud be very focus n keen towards wats out thre..
teamwork is important as well as creative thinkin..dun juz simple smash the pumpkins w/out knowing whether its gud or not.. bha..tired la..
gudnite evy1....chow!!!

Good-day guys!!!

My group came up with a measurement of Win....because our Team Name was ALL WIN!!!,but unfortunately, maybe due to miscommunication,it ended up being Wing....hehe.
1 Wing = length of 2 outstretched arms.

So,you can c that measuring the height of our friends and d area of the classroom were peanuts.
BUHAHA

But when it comes to measuring the width of door, length of nose....uh uh....our measurement wasn't that accurate anymore.

Coming up with the measurement is easy, but measuring different types of objects from big to small wasn't.
Thats why from this lesson,I've learnt that all measurements need to be specific and standardised.Or else, who noes what am I using to make measurements??!!!

Oh yea, love our team so much!
Like Cade said,We've got so much teamwork going on!!

GO GUYS GO!!!!

just now i'm so interested with physical chem which its full with calculation and measurement...

what enjoy of activity of measurement.....ha3....what bad of me...

in system measurement in our group, we take important about our frenship...like always be together and do all assignment together....and be sportig for alll members....so our gangs is the best that i haven had...he3...

now i'm excited using foot and 'kaki' in malay.... my room is quite small... additional to that, my roomate have made change in our room but it become much smaller than before....ha3...using foot was taking a lot of time in order to make my room is the best.... however, my room become more comfortable and cooler...;-p(hope you can guest what happen to my room...ha3..)

from this, i learn a lot of experienced....like do design for my room and be patient(to do changing needed a lof of time)...

for english essay, it become easier when we do in team.... many ideas throw out from our my minds into a piece of paper...how amazing right?!..ha3... i'm think i'm the worst man in writing essay...but in group i'm feel i'm the best in give ideas for the group...keep it up man...ha3....

like our teams' slogan, 1..2..3.. do for the best....

In this class we done our measurement of some items with unique ways. It's just like a test of our creativity and our patience.cause every groups have to come out with unique measuring system and use that to measure.
For our group,we has chosen 'depa' as our measurement.I admit i felt a bit regret when we have to measure a tiny part of some items such as the width of door and the length of nose.
Finally,we could finish our task as well...Thanks god!i found that the measurement system that being used nowadays is much more advance and accurate.Ruler, measuring tape and etc are great invention!

assalammualaikum..
me back again in the blog..
god my whole body is aching from bridged siswa..they really worked me out..but it was sooo much fun..i've always dreamed on swimming in pahang river n now i've already had more of it..2 soaking days at sungai pahang really thought me a lot..
back to our main topic the measurement system..it's surely one of the ridiculous things i've done..to measure the class using an umbrella is easy but when it comes to measuring nose it was very funny...
that is all for today..i need to present now..
wish me luck..

Hai,
When talk about measurement we will thought of ruler, tape machine but first time in my life i used new type of measurement item...
I really enjoy the activity.
My group choose bely as measuring item...
Its quiet hard but easy when do it in a group

Coklet here!!!

Actually,,when we were ask to measure the class..we thought that its such easy thing..

but measure with different measurement??it is not that easy..my group choose file...oh no....

we were ask to measure height, nose and other..its really hard...actually it quit funny,,but we enjoy it..

from this activity,i learn that anything would be easy if we done together..and anything is not impossible..

chayok2!!!hehehe

assalamualaikum and hye everyone=)

for your information, our class have done the measure activity...
it's so fun..madam jumani divide we all into 5 group..

Each group have their own measurement such as they use file, wing, an umbrella and foot..

our group used bag string...

we need to measure the length, wide of our class, member nose and so on..it was so fun activity..hehehehehe..

can you imagine how they measure member nose by use an umbrella..hehehe

This activity teach us the important of the group work.. and the very important value is the important of the system international unit in measurement..

i think it enough for tody..my stomach start singing know..hehehe
bye3..

Hi~
at first, teacher said that we have to measure the width of our classroom...
so, we try to get a simplest system to measure that~
we want to use the thing that can we get anytime and everywhere..
so, we decided to use our 'wing'..
'wing' is easier for us to measure large item but is quite hard to measure the length of our nose~
Fortunately, our group is expert in calculation!
Finally, we finish our task perfectly!! haha~ ^_^
We have concluded that we should feel grateful for the measurement system that we have now..
Thanks God a lots for giving us a convenient life!

i enjoyed our class during doing the measurement..
haha...so funny...
our group use umbrella to measure length of nose, height and many more....
i can see that my group members show their good perfomance during this activity..

that's all....
thank you...

it so fantastic activities that we have done... many measurement system we can use to measure a small tutorial class one..
but it so hard which the group use the measurement system that small one like file and ruler..
but, for my group we use the bag string to measure all the component that teacher want..
actually, our group get a problem for the first time measure using beside the ruler..hahaha
finally, what ican said...i'm very enjoy with this activities and want to do it more...bye

halo!!!!!!
the holiday just over....so sad...
urm...our group had choose a file as the tools for measurement...
its so funny looking our fellow friends measure the room by using so many tools...at least we ave brain to think what to use if we dont have today's measurement tools..
using a file is not as easy as we think. because of its size, some of the things we cannot measure because the things was too small to use such a big file....
but after all, it funny an interesting enough to feel how ancient people use their sklls to measure things in such a unique ways...

thats all for ow....da....NUR FITRIAH...n_n

hi...

measured by using umbrella....weired right..however that's me and my group mates desicion to do our measurements.

it's very interesting activity..we can know that the difference by using different system of measurement..some of the groups using shoes, wing (depa) and many more.

for me.....it is hard if there's a lot of measurement type involve in the world...and that's why the SI unit was made by the scientist to make us more easy to measure....

i think....we should study more to find out the most easier way to measure in the next time....

a measurement is a quite fun activity. i was interestiing with that...
i thing the reason why i am love the physic subject is because the measurement.
a measurement is important in our life. a basic to built a world is a measurement. to become world class engineering, we need to know to measure anything...
but, i was found a problem to measure a lenght with a belt. it is because i can't estimate the accurate lenght of the class or even my high.
whatever ilove to measure something...

Salam...and hye to everyone....
WElcme back to UMP n to continue our study....

As we all know, we had learn about measuring systerm before we take a break...
My group was choose an umbrella as item using to measure...ahhh,it so hard because an umbrella hard...it's difficult to measure smething that are not straight...

So,I had learnt that we must happy now because now we don't use any item to measure because we have certain measuring and we just have to convert it if we want to know the actual value....

But I enjoy with that activity because before this I never use an umbrella to measure....

Ok,see u all next time...

i really dont have lots of things to share with you in measurement because its always relate to Mathematic..
I used to love math before..
and always got highest marks in my classroom..hehe

well math is used to be my favourite subject because i can score this subject easily just by memorizing those formulas..then apply those in exam..

the answers are already in the question..

you just need some tricky mind thinking to explore the math calculations by using those math formulas..

but then
after a long time study in math i become blurr..

and even started to dislike this subject..

this is all because my misunderstand to this subject..

math is not something
that you need to memorize all the formulas but
it's about to understand how to formulas are created...
and to understand closely what are the formulas are used for..

thats all..

how r u??? =)
measuring? i'am always use a rule to do some measurement or another measuring device..
our group decide to use an umberella as a measuring system...
actually we want to use a shoes but we change it last minutes..
it really hard measure smething by using the measurement system without scale...
the result obtain doesn't accurate..
my team enjoy doing this activity...
but this activity cann't be done completely without team work...
thanks guy...

hi.........

very interesting.....................
because it make me to think out the box to get the measurement...........

it also make me to use my own sollution to solve problem since there is many problems to solve when i become enggineer in future..............................

in common way, people always measure things by using common things...

thats all

assalamualaikum.
before this we was doing measure a measure.this activities is very fun and i can the rule.firstly we must measure length of class, wide of class, diameter circle of one group and their perimeter length of a circle.to solve this problems we use bag string to measure all of this.then we also must to measure the long nose in the class.so the measured we get is not accurate.
for conclusion this activities is very good for engineering course and enjoy with this activities.
thank you

hello...

measure?
usually i use a ruler to measure something and i use wood to measure deep of water...
but,for this time my group use shoelace to measure the width and length of the room, the dimension of the door, the longest nose among group members, and so on......

the activity very interesting...
very fun...
so funny...
very enjoy..
very happy....
and so on...hehe

i think for this activity teamwork is very important for complate this activity..

that all..
see u next time.. :)

this is the first time i send a commment,
actually i really enjoy the measurement activity,
our team used my lovely belt to measure things around......lucky because i don't lose my trouser..

now i know other function of my belt...it's a bonus

i able to learn or know more about myself, about my tall and many more

this activity really need us to co-operate with each other....make us to be close each other....but nothing happen laa....

overall i really enjoy every session of UHL2312

.....thanks to my cute lecturer Madam Jumani.....

Hyee everyone....
Fran’s here.....
Allow me to bring you deeper about our recent class activity....

It was really interesting yet funny moments for us where
each group has to come up with their own measuring
system......
after discussing for about couples of minutes, we decided to use “wing ” as our measuring system.......

it was very easy to use wing,
because we just have to line up side by side
and spread our arms
and, you see, its done...!!!!!
it’s just that easy....
other measuring systems used were shoes, belt, file(I guess....), and many more.....

pronouncedly, they found it is harder to measure up compare to us.....
this, I believe, is due to less effectiveness
of their measuring system....

there are so many useful input from the activity....
for instance, we need to be specific and accurate in order to perform an effective descriptions.....

actually i'm very enjoy this activity because we need a creativity and team work. if we not choose a suitable apperatus the measuring process will be dificult especially when we measure a long thing and small thing. it also need the comitment from other member in the group. we can not measure the thing alone. for example when we want to measure area of the class.

...meAsUre fOr meAsuRe...

how can i meAsure all things including long nose by using file...so hard to do it...

it need our team work and full comitmEnt to did...

but finally we really done it...

we all enjoy it...

First i'm very enjoy that activity!!! Cause it's so funny like a group chosen a shock...For my group had chosen the shoes lace as my measuring of system....So my group can measure all of you want it..so for today i learned about Think first before decide!!!
So in english technical writing i will more better and think first when i read the question and message!!!

assalamualaikum

I enjoy the activity .
I use belt to measure all the thing that teacher wants me to measure.
It is very easy. This activity give me many ideas about measurement.

Measurement is the process of estimating the magnitude of some attribute of an object, such as its length or weight, relative to some standard (unit of measurement), such as a meter or a kilogram. The term is also used to indicate the number that results from that process. Metrology is the scientific study of measurement. The act of measuring usually involves using a measuring instrument, such as a ruler, weighing scale, thermometer, speedometer, or voltmeter, which is calibrated to compare the measured attribute to a measurement unit. Any kind of attributes can be measured,[1] including physical quantities such as distance, velocity, energy, temperature, or time. The assessment of attitudes or perception in surveys, or the testing of aptitudes of individuals are also considered to be measurements. Indeed, surveys and tests are considered to be "measurement instruments". The founder of it was Matthew Lasky.

Measurements always have errors and therefore uncertainties. In fact, the reduction —not necessarily the elimination— of uncertainty is central to the concept of measurement. Measurement errors are often assumed to be normally distributed about the true value of the measured quantity. Under this assumption, every measurement has three components: the estimate, the margin of error or uncertainty or error bound, and the confidence level — that is the probability that the actual magnitude lies within the margin of error. For example, a measurement of the length of a plank might result in an estimate of 2.53 meters plus or minus 0.01 meter, with a level of confidence of 99%.

The initial state of uncertainty, prior to any observations, is necessary to assess when using statistical methods that rely on prior knowledge (Bayesian methods). This can be done with calibrated probability assessment.

Measurement is fundamental in science; it is one of the things that distinguish science from pseudoscience. It is easy to come up with a theory about nature, hard to come up with a scientific theory that predicts measurements with great accuracy. Measurement is also essential in industry, commerce, engineering, construction, manufacturing, pharmaceutical production, and electronics. So there is no probem to apply it in technical writing

SAND AND STONE

A story tells that two friends were walking through the desert. During some point of the journey they had an argument, and one friend slapped the other one in the face. The one who got slapped was hurt, but without saying anything, wrote in the sand: "TODAY MY BEST FRIEND SLAPPED ME IN THE FACE."

They kept on walking until they found an oasis, where they decided to take a bath. The one, who had been slapped, got stuck in the mire and started drowning, but the friend saved him. After the friend recovered from the near drowning, he wrote on a stone: "TODAY MY BEST FRIEND SAVED MY LIFE."

The friend who had slapped and saved his best friend asked him, "After I hurt you, you wrote in the sand and now, you write on a stone, why?"

The other friend replied: "When someone hurts us, we should write it down in sand where winds of forgiveness can erase it away. But, when someone does something good for us, we must engrave it in stone where no wind can ever erase it."

HELLO....
Let we share about
"Parable Of The Pencil "

The Pencil Maker took the pencil aside, just before putting him into the box.

"There are 5 things you need to know," he told the pencil, "Before I send you out into the world. Always remember them and never forget, and you will become the best pencil you can be."

"One: You will be able to do many great things, but only if you allow yourself to be held in Someone's hand."

"Two: You will experience a painful sharpening from time to time, but you'll need it to become a better pencil."

"Three: You will be able to correct any mistakes you might make."

"Four: The most important part of you will always be what's inside."

"And Five: On every surface you are used on, you must leave your mark. No matter what the condition, you must continue to write."

The pencil understood and promised to remember, and went into the box with purpose in its heart.

Now replacing the place of the pencil with you. Always remember them and never forget, and you will become the best person you can be.

One: You will be able to do many great things, but only if you allow yourself to be held in God's hand. And allow other human beings to access you for the many gifts you possess.

Two: You will experience a painful sharpening from time to time, by going through various problems in life, but you'll need it to become a stronger person.

Three: You will be able to correct any mistakes you might make.

Four: The most important part of you will always be what's on the inside.

And Five: On every surface you walk through, you must leave your mark. No matter what the situation, you must continue to do your duties.

Allow this parable on the pencil to encourage you to know that you are a special person and only you can fulfill the purpose to which you were born to accomplish.

Never allow yourself to get discouraged and think that your life is insignificant and cannot make a change.

THANKS FROM SHAFIZA.... :-)
