If this is your first experience doing Speed Talk, what do you think about it? Do you like this activity? In UHL 2322, there is a little twist in Speed Talk, Speed Talk this time asks you to prepare a question inviting or soliciting opinions, rather than asking for information like we did last semester (for those who have done it before last sem).
So, what was your question? What were your own thoughts on that topic? And out of all the opinions your friends gave you, which answer did you like most and why?

6) Something I learnt in class today: I think this topic is self explanatory. Basically discuss what you learnt in class regardless if it has anything to do with English or not. E.g. Today I learnt that there's no such thing as a stupid question....

Opinion headlines and speed talk, both combine together really makes the whole activity very interesting. In a way, we will be able to express out our opinion to others during the speed talk and get feedback from them, some might be solid feedback/opinion, some might be rude opinion or even some is meaningless opinion from others but all in all these opinion which will enable the person to know where their opinion headline stand as everyone opinion came out has a story behind it which makes this class social activity interesting and meaningful.
Lastly, Thanks for such an interactive class.

For me, speedtalk is really interesting and this is the first time i'm doing it..it helps me to improve my knowledges and give me the chance to speak out about my topic as well..on opinion headlines, i feel really exciting as all of us talk about the current issues..it also teach me to throw away my inhibitions towards my friends.

The latest movie i had watched was True Confession of a Hollywood Starlet..the story is about a spoiled young teenager whose having a lot of problems as she is an alcoholic and love to party..her mother was worried and so she send her to her friends house to go for a break for rehab..during her break she lived her life as a normal teenager..a lot of new things she learn there..~
I think this movie is very suitable for teenagers as it gives a lot of morals. The whole teenage things were revealed in this movie..lies, love and friendship..

New movie that i have watched is entitled "Ketika Cinta Bertasbih 2".The story is about the sacrifices that a brother made for his family's life. Technically, this movie is a connection from the movie "Ketika Cinta Bertasbih 1".The director highlited emotional issues from the hero,that is when he cannot find his true love after he have tried his best. Finally, as the muslims believe, all our fate have been stated in the 'Lauh Mahfuz' , he found his true love which is the one he has helped during he is in Cairo, Egypt.

i think the speed talk is very interesting activity.i can improve my language better ..even thought for the last semester is so bad i think.i can do a lot research for my topic as well.i am also can give opinions about anything...lastly i am so enjoy in this class..

i had read the headlines in The Star which is ' Money in coffin', bomoh arrested or cheating couple... This headline was most interesting to me because it attracted me to wake up and read this with curiously.
This was about bomoh who told a couple to put their life’s savings of RM750,000 into a coffin to cure an illness was arrested for cheating the couple. The bomoh duped the couple into believing that the husband, who had fallen ill suddenly, could be cured if they gave him RM750,000 to be placed in a coffin.
Definitely, this headline give more lessons how to manage my life with properly. I believed that everything in this world not come with easily, its need a full of responsibility and sacrifice. As a student, i must think carefully before making a decisions.

happy day!! new semester, new day, new class, new lecturer, new face.
i would like to share about what i have learned today, 26th January 2010 in technical writing class. for the first hour, madam decided to continue about the Venn diagram presentation she had assigned us last week about the product to be presented in movie maker.then, the next half hour she manage to give some advice about how to properly manage our presentation in present day. the main point are to make a wise decision by defining goal(s), planning, monitoring , checking, evaluating and revising. and the last half hour madam ask us to read a sample essays and discuss in groups the structure of the essays, how the ideas were organised.
5:54pm. thats all for our class today. salam

recently, i have watched "st.trinians" movie.This movie mainly about the school that being labeled the worst discipline school ever.Although the students there are quite wild,actually very wild,they appreciate the friendship among themselves.They have gone through a lot of hardship together and when the school is about being closed by the minister,they worked together to overcome this problems..
This movie is really good and I'm sure you all will enjoy watch this...Thank you.

i like that work because i always use it in malay so when i know that word in english,i can change my word in malay to english..

Regarding on the speed-talk :
This is something fresh and new to me. It is rare for me to have a class that is pack with games and activities. Seriously, learning language is not a happening things that can simply give joy to everyone. By having games or activities such as the speed-talk does really give me new experience and spirit. I do really enjoy the speed-talk and laughing out loud seeing people's act when they have given a chance to talk within a period of time. Despite of the noise, it does give me new knowledge and life-experience. I love it!
